
Volleyball
Homer 3, Columbia Central 0: The Golden Eagles fell 25-15, 25-20, and 25-22 against Homer. Berlynn Lyke finished with 11 kills and 15 assists, Ayrianne Gaskill finished with five blocks, Alison Richardson tallied eight kills, and Kenzie Duncan finished with 21 digs for CCHS.
Hanover-Horton 3, Vandercook Lake 0: The Comets won 25-13, 25-9, and 25-16. Chelsea Russ led Hanover-Horton with 10 kills and two aces while Natalee Krage finished with 23 assists. Vandercook Lake was led by Kylinn Lagow with four kills, six digs, and three blocks. Jozlyn Davis and Emma Hunt finished with five digs apiece for VCL.
Grass Lake 3, Napoleon 0: The Warriors won the match 25-10, 25-23, 25-17 in a Cascades Conference matchup. Reese Lape led Grass Lake with nine kills, Mia Buttigieg added 32 assists, and Hanna Alvarez finished with 20 digs.
Camden-Frontier 3, Jackson Christian 0: The Royals lost 25-21, 25-23, and 25-15. Madi Conrad finished with six assists and Shaina McCombs and Malia Kniffen each finished with three kills for Jackson Christian.
Lumen Christi 3, Our Lady of the Lakes 1: Lexie Thornhill finished with 12 kills and six blocks and Avah Gaston recorded 14 digs for the Titans.
Jackson 3, Ypsilanti 0: The Vikings earned a sweep on senior night. Senior Kennedy Lee finished with 10 kills and fellow senior Kaitlyn Proevski tallied 14 digs for Jackson. Bryleigh Zigenfuss finished with 11 kills and Kialye Harrell dished 26 assists for Jackson (8-9-3).

Concord 3, Reading 2: The Yellow Jackets won 15-11 in the fifth set Tuesday night.

Bronson 3, Springport 0: The Spartans fell to 13-15-4 with the loss at Bronson High School.
Girls Cross Country
Homer 19, Columbia Central 50: Melyssa McJennett of CCHS finished second overall in 25:17.
Big 8 at Concord: Concord High School runner Haley Stimer finished third overall (20:10), and Cieara Barrett was fifth overall (20:56) for Concord. Springport finished seventh in the jamboree with 167 points.
Napoleon 18, East Jackson 47: Lauren McLain won the event for Napoleon in 21:48 and teammate Madelyn Norman placed second in 22:26. Priya Mericle was third for East Jackson in 23:06.
Hanover-Horton 15, Jonesville 49: Hanover-Horton swept the top six spots in the meet. Olivia Perrine (20:30), Sophia Reynolds (21:17), and Brynlee Swihart (22:00) finished first through third for Hanover-Horton.
Grass Lake 19, Manchester 44: The Warriors took six of the seven top spots in the meet. Ava Viegelahn of Grass Lake won the event in 21:41.
Leslie 15, Michigan Center 50: The Blackhawks earned the top seven spots in the dual. Julia Reynolds of MCHS finished eighth in 23:01 and teammate Kate Paterson finished ninth in 23:11.
Addison 15, Vandercook Lake 50: Stephanie Hernandez of Addison High School won the event in 26:26. The Jayhawks did not post any times at the meet.
Boys Cross Country
Homer 28, Columbia Central 29: Wyatt Vowell (18:04) and Owen Lambarth (18:43) finished second and third respectively at home for CCHS.
Big 8 at Concord: Concord High School finished fourth (111) and Springport was sixth (130) at CHS. Maddox Hutchinson of Concord finished ninth (19:00) and Eli Dyer of Springport was 14th (19:22).
East Jackson 20, Napoleon 35: Michael Allen of East Jackson won the meet in16:16 and teammate Javin Mericle was second with a time of 17:02. Kyler Pequet of Napoleon finished third in 17:40.
Hanover-Horton 26, Jonesville 29: Evan Shepherd of HHHS won the event in 16:18 and Zach Hassenzahl was fourth with a time of 16:51.
Grass Lake 26, Manchester 31: Manchester High School took the top two spots, but the Warriors won the next four positions to earn the victory. Zach Buttigieg (17:51), Alex Holda (18:21), and Domingo Decoster-Elizondo (18:21) finished third through fifth for the Warriors.
Leslie 15, Michigan Center 50: Leslie High School swept the top seven positions in the meet. Nathan Paddock of Michigan Center finished eighth in 18:54.
Vandercook Lake 23, Addison 32: Dallas Swaenepoel of Vandercook Lake won the event in 19:13 and teammate Nick Gardner was third in 19:23.

Grass Lake 1, Columbia Central 0: Zander Stormont scored the only goal of the game for the Warriors.

Girls Regional Golf
Division 4 at Perry: East Jackson High School finished fourth (459), Lumen Christi finished sixth (479), Napoleon was seventh (514), and Grass Lake eighth (522) at Glenbriar Golf Course in the Division 4 regional Tuesday. Anna McCubbins of Napoleon was an individual state qualifier with an 87. East Jackson was led by Mariah Kerley with a 108, Rylie Raehtz of Grass Lake tied for 15th with a 113, and Best Peyton led Lumen Christi with a 116. McCubbins qualifies for the Division 4 state finals starting Friday, Oct. 20.
Division 4 at Clinton: Columbia Central High School won its first regional team title in seven years with a nearly 50-stroke win at Rustic Glen Golf Course near Clinton. The Golden Eagles finished with a four-person total of 346, Clinton was second at 394, and Michigan Center earned a state-qualifying spot by finishing third at 430. Concord was fourth (434) and Hanover-Horton was seventh (496). Addison golfers Alisha Gahn (84) and Nevaeh Edison (100) earned individual state-qualifying spots. Concord golfer Hannah Stimer also earned an individual-qualifying spot scoring an 87. The top three teams and top three individuals not on qualifying spots advance to the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 state final at Bedford Valley Golf Course near Battle Creek Oct. 20 and 21.

The Rupp at TPC Michigan: Spring Arbor College won the 36-hole event at TPS Michigan with a four-man total of 621. Luke Fisher won the medalist honors with a 148, Zach Koch was third scoring 144, and Blaze Tanner finished seventh at 158.
