District Volleyball
Division 1 at Howell High School – Dexter 3, Northwest 0: The Mounties finished the season with an 18-20-3 record.
Division 2 – Eaton Rapids 3, Charlotte 0: The Greyhounds will now face Western Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Western High School.
Division 3 – Michigan Center 3, Lumen Christi 1: The Cardinals improved to 12-8-1 with the district win. The Cardinals will face Hanover-Horton in the district semifinal at Concord at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Lumen Christi finished the season with a 1-14-1 record.
Division 3 – Napoleon 3, Concord 0: The Pirates earned its 20th win of the season with the district victory over the host school. Maggie Beer finished with 21 kills and 11 assists, Gracie Tallman tallied 30 digs, and Morgan McDonald finished with seven blocks for Napoleon. NHS will face East Jackson Wednesday at Concord High School at 7 p.m. Concord finished the season with 26 wins.
Division 3 – Grass Lake 3, Clinton 2: The Warriors survived and advanced in the district tournament at Ann Abor Greenhills. Grass Lake earns its 30th win of the season with the district win. GLHS will now face Greenhills Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the district semifinal.
Whitmore Lake 3, Ypsilanti Prep 0: Whitmore Lake will now face Manchester Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the district semifinal at Ann Arbor Greenhills.
Division 3 – Springport 3, Maple Valley 0: The Spartans earned an easy win in the district tournament game at Homer High School. Springport improved to 19-20-5 with the tournament win. SHS will face Potterville Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at HHS.
Division 4 – Vandercook Lake 3, Jackson Prep 1: The Jayhawks won a district contest at Jackson College Monday night. Kylinn Lagow finished with eight kills, Jazlynn Sullivan dished 14 assists, and Marissa Dahn tallied seven kills for the Jayhawks. Emma Hunt finished with six kills and four aces from the service line. Vandercook Lake travel to Lansing Christian Wednesday for a 7 p.m. district semifinal contest.
Girls Cross Country
Jensen Meet at Sharp Park: Lumen Christi Catholic High School took four of the top five spots in the annual J. Chris Jensen Memorial Run at Sharp Park Monday. Madison Osterberg won the 5K event in 17 minutes, 58 seconds for the Titans. Teammates Samantha Schroeder (19:18) and Macy Fazekas (19:41) finished second and third, Chloe Khon of Northwest was fourth (19:48), and LCCHS runner Sydney Fazekas was fifth (20:15). Concord runner Haley Stimer was sixth (20:22), Grace Brown of Jackson finished seventh (20:48), Cieara Barrett placed eighth (20:57), Ava Viegelahn finished ninth (21:04) and teammate Grace Bullock was 10th (21:06).
Boys Cross Country
Jensen Meet at Sharp Park: Lumen Christi Catholic High School doubled its pleasure with a win in the boys’ race as Isaiah Dinverno was first in 16:23 Monday at Sharp Park. Michael Allen of East Jackson was second (16:43), Gannon Shore of LCCHs was third (16:52), Javin Mericle of East Jackson was fourth (17:18), and Kyler Pequet of Napoleon finished fifth (17:24). Jack Gorton of Columbia Central was sixth (17:32), Hudson Cooper of Northwest finished seventh (17:39), William Kennedy of East Jackson placed eighth (17:51), Gibson Shore of Lumen Christi earned ninth place (17:53), and Bryson White of Jackson took 10th place (17:59).
