Football
Lumen Christi 35, St. Francis 0: The Titans won a rematch on the road of last year’s Division 7 state title game. Kadale Williams ran for 119 yards and three touchdowns for the Titans. Alex Pastoriza scored on a 61-yard run and Xavier Gallant scored on a 2-yard run for Lumen Christi (7-0). Cassius Griffin and Antwon Baker both finished with six tackles and Pierre Gray and Ryan Walicki each recovered fumbles for LCCHS. The Titans travel to Gaylord next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Volleyball
Concord Invitational: The Yellow Jackets went 4-1-1 while Springport was 0-6. Concord advanced to the finals with wins against Jonesville and Union City before losing to Adrian Madison in the finals, 18-25, 25-11, and 15-9. Iyla Weeks of CHS had 88 kills on the day going over 400 for the season. Bradie Lehman finished with 123 assists and Marissa Mandrelle finished with 32 digs for Concord.
Hanover-Horton Invitational: The Comets went 4-2 in pool play resulting in a No. 5 seed at the Karen Abbott Tournaments. Hanover-Horton defeated St. Philip in the quarterfinals 25-16 and 25-19 but lost to Addison in the semifinals 12-25, 25-21, and 15-10. Chelsea Russ finished with 42 kills and Natalee Krage dished 88 assists and recorded eight aces for Hanover-Horton.
Girls Cross Country

Hudson Invitational: Michigan Center finished 13th in the Division 3 race with 305 points. Julia Reynolds finished 48th in the race in 24:02. Priya Mericle of East Jackson finished 19th in the Division 4 race in 22:34.
Portage Invitational: Lumen Christi won the Division 3 race with 88 points, Grass Lake placed 11th scoring 333, and Hanover-Horton was 13th with 352. Madison Osterberg of Lumen Christi finished second individually (17:44) and teammate Samantha Schroeder placed eighth (19:09). Olivia Perrine of Hanover-Horton finished 13th (19:29) and Macy Fazekas of LCCHS was 22nd (19:58).
Western High School finished 23rd in the Division 2 race with 657 points. Raquel Curry finished 73rd for Western in 20:48 in the race. Concord was 11th in the Division 4 race with 285 points. Haley Stimer of Concord finished ninth in 20:04.
Northwest at Olivet Invitational: Chloe Khon of Northwest High School won the varsity race in 19:32.
Boys Cross Country
Hudson Invitational: East Jackson finished second in the Division 4 race with 119 points and Jackson Prep placed 11th with 231 points at Hudson High School. Michael Allen of EJHS won the event in 16:33 and teammate Javin Mericle placed seventh in 17:15. Columbia Central finished fourth (149) and Michigan Center was 14th (324) in the Division 3 race. Jack Gorton of CCHS was 17th (17:49) and teammate Wyatt Vowell was right behind him (17:53).
Portage Invitational: Hanover-Horton finished fourth (181), Lumen Christi was ninth (256), and Grass Lake placed 18th (525) in the Division 3 race. Isaiah Dinverno finished fourth (15:56) for Lumen Christi, Evan Shepherd of Hanover-Horton placed 15th (16:35), and Gannon Shore of LCCHS finished 21st (16:44).
Northwest at Olivet Invitational: Northwest High School finished fourth in the event with 128 points. Hudson Cooper finished 11th in the race in 18:00.
Boys Soccer
Adrian 2, Columbia Central 1 (OT): Adrian High School earned an overtime win at Columbia Central Saturday morning.
Western 8, Owosso 0: The Panthers improved to 11-5-1 with the home win Saturday night.
College Sporting Events
Volleyball
Jackson College at Skipper Quad: Jackson College went 3-0 on the day with wins over Henry Ford College, North Central Michigan College, and Lakeland College. The Jets won 25-22, 25-18 and 25-13 against Henry Ford; won 25-23, 25-13, and 25-19 versus North Central; and earned the sweep with a 25-14, 25-15, and 25-20 win over Lakeland. Leading the way were Kenadee Tompkins with 79 assists and 32 digs, Alivia Smith with 50 digs, Allie Jarchow with 25 kills, Brynn Harmon tallied 22 kills and nine blocks, and Kate Gorney with nine aces and Jaden Bates with eight aces. The Jets are now 10-4 overall, 4-3 in the MCCAA Eastern Division. Jackson will host Mott Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Madonna 3, Spring Arbor University 2: Spring Arbor University lost 15-13 in the fifth set at Gary, Ind. SAU senior Frances Churchwell finished with 31 digs to eclipse the 1,500 dig mark for her career.
Spring Arbor 3, Indiana Northwest 0: The Cougars won 27-25, 25-22, and 25-10 at Gary, Ind. Spring Arbor enjoyed a kill percentage of .560 in game three against Northwest. Kendall Bollenbacher finished with 13 kills, Hayden Fortress dished 21 assists, and Frances Churchwell recorded 22 digs for Spring Arbor (13-11).
Women’s Soccer

Schoolcraft 2, Jackson College 1: Jessa Davis scored the only goal for Jackson College in the home match. Davis scored a goal in the first half for the Jets. A strong wind – 30-plus miles-per-hour – stymied Jackson College in the second half. Katelyn Gasper stopped 10 shots in goal for Jackson in net. The Jets are now 10-6-1 overall, 7-4-1 MCCAA. JC travels to Delta College Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Spring Arbor University 1, Huntington 0: Lauren Marshall scored the Cougars’ only goal on an assist by Jocelyn Hendricks. Blair Currie earned the win in net for SAU with one save. Spring Arbor is 11-0 overall, 4-0 in CL.
Men’s Soccer

Schoolcraft 9, Jackson College 0: The Jets were held scoreless for the sixth time this season. Schoolcraft took advantage of the wind jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first half. Jackson College is now 5-6-3 overall, 2-3-1 in the MCCAA. The Jets will travel to Ancilla Oct. 21 for a 3 p.m. contest.
Spring Arbor 4, Huntington 1: The Cougars scored three times in the first half against Huntington. Matheus Cunha scored two goals and added an assists for Spring Arbor in the win. Matt LeBlanc stopped four shots to earn the win in net for Spring Arbor (8-2-3 overall, 3-1 CL).
