Columbia Central 3, Vandercook Lake 0: The Golden Eagles won 25-17, 26-16, and 25-10 improving to 2-1 in the Cascades Conference. Rylie Aylesworth finished with eight kills and four blocks and Cecelia Slat tallied seven kills for CCHS. Logan Renfer finished with 10 digs for Columbia Central (4-4 overall).
Bronson 3, Concord 2: The Yellow Jackets lost 15-10 in game five falling to Bronson at home Wednesday. Concord is 8-4-1 overall, 0-1 in the Big Eight Conference.
Hanover-Horton 3, East Jackson 0: The Comets earned a Cascades Conference win Wednesday.
Grass Lake 3, Homer 2: Grass Lake evened its Cascades Conference record at 1-1 with the win.
Eaton Rapids 3, Jackson 0: The Vikings fell 3-0 on the road Wednesday in non-conference action.
Addison 3, Napoleon 0
Springport 3, Maple Valley 0: The Spartans won 25-18,25-9, and 25-12 in non-conference action. Maddux Locke finished with eight kills and Rylee Siefert dished 24 assists for Springport (2-4-2 overall).
Western 3, Pennfield 0: The Panthers won 25-19, 25-10, and 25-16. Abby Nieswender finished with 23 assists and five aces, Kayda Herrick tallied 10 kills, and Izzy Schlundt had four kills and three blocks for Western (8-2 overall, 1-0 I-8 Conference).

Girls Cross Country
Springport Invitational, Class 1: Hanover-Horton High School edged Onsted 47-59 to earn the title at Springport High School. Grass Lake finished third with 65 points. Olivia Perrine of HHHS finished second (20:41) and teammate Sophia Reynolds was fifth (22:01) to lead the Comets. Northwest runner Chloe Kohn placed third individually with a time of 21:14. Grass Lake was led by Adeline Stormont (22:51) and Grace Bullock (22:55) who finished seventh and eighth, respectively. The top 30 in each race earned medals in the event.
Springport Invitational, Class 2: Concord High School slipped by Union City, 41-45, to take the Class 2 title. Haley Stimer won the race in 21:34 and teammate Cieara Barrett was third with a time of 22:10. Priya Mericle of East Jackson placed seventh in 24:12 in the race.
Boys Cross Country
Springport Invitational Class 1: Hanover-Horton High School was the class of the field with 39 points for the team victory. Grass Lake finished fourth (114), Northwest was seventh (187), and Michigan Center placed eighth (196) at Springport High School. Landen Boulis (17:15) and Evan Shepherd ( 17:33) finished second and third respectively for the Comets. Zach Hassenzahl finished eighth (18:25) and Owen Brown (18:28) both had top 10 finishes for Hanover-Horton. Zach Buttigieg (18:48.3) and Alex Holda (18:48.6) of Grass Lake finished 13th and 14th respectively.
Springport Invitational Class 2: East Jackson High School finished second with 62 points at Springport High School. Jackson Prep finished fourth (92), Concord was sixth (162), and Springport placed ninth (191). Michael Allen (17:16) and Javin Mericle (17:42) gave the Trojans a first and third-place finish in the event. Teammate William Kennedy was seventh (19:08) and Nathan Blondke of JPEC finished eighth (19:33) in the 5K event.

Manchester 3, Columbia Central 1: Two of the top teams in the Cascades Conference went at it Wednesday with the Flying Dutchmen coming out the winners on the road.
Grass Lake 7, Jonesville 0: The Warriors enjoyed an easy win on the road Wednesday.
Michigan Center 2, Leslie 0: Spencer Berkeypile and Miles Finch scored goals for the Cardinals in the win. Hunter Clemons earned the shutout in goal for MCHS with 10 saves.
Girls Golf
Cascades Conference at Hanover-Horton: Columbia Central continued its dominance in the conference with a nearly 40-stroke win. CCHS carded a four-man total of 186, Michigan Center was second at 225, East Jackson finished third scoring 230, Napoleon was fourth at 257, Grass Lake placed fifth with 266, and the host school shot 292. Logan Bentley shot a 38 to lead CCHS and Iliana Fowle finished third individually with a 45. Kylie McKee of Michigan Center placed second scoring a 41, and Anna McCubbins of Napoleon was fourth with a 46 on the back nine at Cascades Golf Course.
Concord at LCAA Jamboree: Grace Thorrez finished second with a 54 and Hannah Stimer shot a 55 finishing tied for fifth for Concord at Hillsdale Country Club.
College Sporting Events
Men’s Soccer
Jackson College 2, Muskegon 2: Emmanuel Ndjoli scored a goal and assisted on another as the Jets earned a tie on the road Wednesday. Jon Torres scored the tying goal for Jackson College at the 59 minute mark of the second half. The Jets are now 0-2-3 on the season and will host Bryant & Stratton of Ohio Saturday at 3 p.m.
Spring Arbor 4, Rochester 1: Matheus Cunha scored a pair of goals lifting Spring Arbor University to the win. Victor Toune and Josh Madery also scored goals for the undefeated Cougars (5-0-1). Matt LeBlanc earned the win in goal for SAU.
Women’s Soccer
Jackson College 1, Muskegon 0: Jessa Davis scored the only goal of the game on her only shot of the contest. The goal came in the 57th minute of the second half on the unassisted score. Katelyn Gasper earned the shutout in goal for Jackson College with eight saves. The Jets are now 5-2 on the season and will host Delta College at home Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
Spring Arbor 7, Indiana Tech 0: The contest was delayed 90 minutes due to storms in the area. It didn’t take the Cougars long to heat up scoring two goals in the first 10 minutes of the contest. Spring Arbor scored twice in the first half and five times in the second for the win. Regan Ramirez scored a pair of goals and Rachel Tanielian, Sydney Wright, Fara Serra, Zoe Rumohr, and Jocelyn Hendricks each scored one goal in the win. Reagan Kohler and Blair Currie combined for the shutout for Spring Arbor (4-0) – the defending national champions.

Marian 3, Spring Arbor 0: The Cougars fell to 4-6 with the road loss. Abigail Fernihough and Kendall Bollenbach each tallied seven kills for the Cougars in the contest.
