Volleyball

Jackson Christian 3, Calhoun Christian 0: The Royals earned a win 25-18, 25-17, and 25-18 on the road Thursday. Madi Conrad finished with 14 digs and five aces, Shaina McCombs finished with five kills, and Rennie Huff added five kills for JCHS. 

Madison 3, Columbia Central 0: The Golden Eagles lost 25-13, 25-5, and 25-20 Thursday night. Berlynn Lyke finished with six kills and eight assists, Kenzie Duncan tallied 13 digs, and Cecelia Slat recorded two blocks for CCHS. 

Boys Soccer

Grass Lake 6, Hillsdale 0: Max Goebel and Zander Stormont each scored two goals for Grass Lake in the home win. Tyler Chizek and Max Doyle also scored for the Warriors. Josh Postuma earned the shutout in goal for Grass Lake (5-1). 

Jackson 2, Chelsea 0: The Vikings are now 5-1 on the season, having outscored its last six opponents 16-2. 

Girls Golf

Jackson Area Golf Invitational: Columbia Central High School won the event with a four-man total of 358. Western finished third (416), East Jackson was fourth (454), Michigan Center claimed fifth place (479), Lumen Christi was sixth (492), Grass Lake placed seventh (492), and Napoleon shot 511 good for eighth place. CCHS junior Logan Bentley earned medalist honors with a 78 on a damp Cascades Golf Course. Anna McCubbins of Napoleon placed third (89), Iliana Fowle of CCHS shot a 91, Kylie McKee of Michigan Center and Rylie Raehtz of Grass Lake tied for fifth place with 93s, and Marrisa Berro was seventh scoring a 94. Kelsey Fausz of Columbia Central tied for eighth (95) and Kaia Bruneel and Gabriella Davis both of Western tied for 10th (96). 

Jackson at Skyline: Jackson finished third (285) to Skyline (209) and Ypsilanti Lincoln (260) in Southeastern Conference golf. Jackson was led by Avery White with a 63. 

Boys Tennis

Jackson 6, Adrian 2: The Vikings earned a win on the road at Adrian College Thursday night. Ty Northrup, Truong Huynh, and Tobin Warren won singles’ matches for Jackson at Nos. 2-4 respectively. Benjamin Nichols/Joey Ortiz won at No. 2 doubles, Rowan Alger/Theodore Skyes won 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 3 doubles, and Christopher Day/Shritan/Pisupati earned a two-set win at No. 4 doubles for Jackson. 

DeLasalle 7, Lumen Christi 1: Jake King won the only match for the Titans with a three-set win at No. 1 singles. 

Girls swimming

Holt 117, Jackson 65: Gillian Snyder won the 200-yard freestyle race for Jackson in 2:16.

Women’s Golf

Spring Arbor University at Lourdes Invitational: The Cougars finished third out of 10 teams at the invitational with a four-man total of 351. Elle Bolkema led Spring Arbor with an 81 and Ema Benham carded an 88.
