Baseball

Jackson 14, Lansing Eastern 0: Nathanial Hobbs pitched a no-hitter for Jackson in game one, striking out 17 batters. The Vikings scored eight runs in the fifth inning thanks to a double by Kaspar Haehnle. Hobbs finished with two hits at the plate. Jackson did not commit any errors in the contest. 

Jackson 13, Lansing Eastern 0: Michael Foust pitched a complete game for Jackson. Parker Deer and Michael Kirby had key hits in a six-run second inning for Jackson (2-0). 

Michigan Center 4, Northwest 2: Noah Mast and Reid Scaife had two hits apiece for the Cardinals. 

Northwest 8, Michigan Center 1: The Mounties scored eight times in the first three innings in the home win. 

Dansville 4 Napoleon 2: The Pirates dropped its season-opening game on the road. Game two between the two teams was halted after four innings due to darkness. 

Concord 8, East Jackson 3: Lewis Fritz had three hits and knocked in a pair of runs for the Yellow Jackets. Isaac Waldron, Levi Raymond, and Jordan Medellin scattered four hits on the mound for CHS. Logan Stump finished with a pair of hits for the Trojans.

East Jackson 7, Concord 6: Hayden Wilson scored a pair of runs and earned the pitching win for East Jackson in the win. Tyler Carpenter scored a pair of wins for Concord (1-1). Hayden Wilson scored the pitching win for the Trojans. 

Lumen Christi 9, Tecumseh 9: The Titans scored six runs in the final three innings to tie the score. Cooper Keene and Gabe King had multiple hits for Lumen Christi. 

Softball

Columbia Central 25, Lumen Christi 11: The Golden Eagles scored 10 times in the fourth inning to pull away from the Titans. Brooke Lynn Hills tallied five hits and knocked in six runs for CCHS. Korea Franklin recorded two hits and knocked in three runs for Lumen Christi. 

Columbia Central 10, Lumen Christi 4: Kenadee Tompkins finished with two hits including a home run and three RBIs in the CCHS win. Gianna Evans earned the pitching win for the Golden Eagles. Riley Okoniewski and Kadence Hinkley each recorded two hits in the loss for Lumen Christi. 


 

Flat Rock 7, Napoleon 1: Bailey Vickery went 2-for-3 for the Pirates. 

Napoleon 9, Flat Rock 8: Becka McFate knocked in the winning run for Napoleon with a sacrifice fly. Raye Burke was the winning pitcher for the Pirates, striking out four batters. 

Northwest 14, Skyline 2: Chloe Cooper had two hits and drove in four runs for Northwest. 

Northwest 16, Skyline 0: Nevaeh Ingram pitched a no-hitter, striking out nine batters for Northwest. Grace Pilaczynski went 3-for-3 at the plate for Northwest (2-0). 

East Jackson 25, Concord 5: East Jackson scored 16 times in the first three innings against Concord. Savanna Curey earned the pitching win for the Trojans, striking out eight batters. 

East Jackson 14, Concord 2: Kylee Weston had a pair of hits and knocked in two runs for Concord. The Trojans scored 10 times in the first inning at Concord. Addison Hendricks, Savana Stewart, and Emily Uyttenhove all had multiple hits for the Trojans. 

Girls soccer

Columbia Central 8, Jackson Christian 0: The Golden Eagles scored five goals in the first half and closed out the game midway through the second half with three goals. Alyssa Stewart scored a hat trick for the Golden Eagles. Other goals were scored by Jaden Bates (2), Mia Taylor, Allie Choate, and Lydia Stewart. Bailey Surque earned the shutout in goal for CCHS (1-0). Malia Kniffen made a number of saves in goal for Jackson Christian in the match.   

Northwest 4, Grass Lake 1: Ella Kraus scored the only goal for the Warriors on a penalty kick late in the second half. Karly Penhallegon made 21 saves for Grass Lake. 

Lansing Christian 2, Western 1:  Western’s goal was scored by freshman Claudia Allen on an assist from senior Tory Lammers. 

Boys golf

Chelsea scramble: Jackson tied for first with a score of 31. The Vikings consisted of Andrew Covalle, Carsyn Barkholz, Colin Norton, and William Fex.
