Napoleon at Ionia Invitational: Napoleon High School won the 10-team invitational at Ionia. Athletes wrestled for invitational titles while earning points for their respective teams at the Mike Adamson Invitational at Ionia. T.J. Bocanegra (103), Nick Marienfeld (160), and Brady Brooks (285) earned individual titles for the Pirates. Brenden Yob (119), Mason Roth (152), Bart Laretz (171), and Aiden Nugent (189) finished second in their respective weight classes. Third-place finishers for the Pirates were Aiden Bocanegra (112), Deegan Herman (125), and Ian Albert (145).
Lady Mat Cat Invitational: Hanover-Horton High School wrestler Danni Swihart won the title at 135 pounds with three pins and a 6-1 decision. Sienna Tovar of Jackson finished fourth in the same weight class, losing to Swihart in the semifinals and finishing the day with two pins. Natalie Tobey of Jackson was third at 155 pounds earning three wins on the day. More than 40 teams participated in the event at Montague High School on Thursday.
