Grass Lake 3, Springport 0: The Spartans battled Grass Lake for two games before losing 25-23, 25-20, and 25-14. Grass Lake celebrated senior night starting five seniors – Piper Tipton, Leah Allen, Ruby Johnson, Catherine Cottle, and Jasmine Carr – in the first set. Cottle finished with 16 assists, Johnson had 11 kills, Carr recorded three blocks, Johnson had 11 kills, and Tipton finished with five kills for Grass Lake. 

Columbia Central 3, Tecumseh 1: The Golden Eagles won 25-23, 25-13, 23-25, and 25-15 on the road Thursday in a non-conference match with Tecumseh.   


North Adams-Jerome 3, Jackson Christian 0: The Royals lost 25-11, 25-10, and 25-13 at home on Thursday. Julaina McCombs had four kills and one ace for Jackson Christian. 

Boys soccer

Grass Lake 8, Quincy 0: Dylan Griffor scored twice and six other players – Gus Vitale, Zander Stormont, Jacob Colesa, Cole Keneaw, Henry Black, and Wesley Good – scored for the Warriors. Good broke the school record for career goals with 37 – surpassing his brother Louis. Jack Easterday and the GLHS defense also earned its sixth shutout of the season – a single-season record. 

Ypsilanti 2, Jackson 1: The Vikings lost to Ypsilanti by the same score as last Saturday. Jackson has only given up four goals in their last three matches. Brayon Tanner scored on a penalty kick for Jackson. 

Coldwater 3, Western 2: The Panthers are 5-2 following the loss to Coldwater. Jeff Palmer scored one goal and assisted on another for Western. Wittaker Watterson scored the other goal for the Panthers. Western is 3-2 in the Interstate-8 Conference after losing to Marshall and Coldwater this week.

Chelsea 117, Jackson 69: Jackson fell on the road Thursday at Chelsea High School.
