Michigan Center 12, Napoleon 7: The Napoleon High School football team held Kaydin Hiland scoreless for just over 47 minutes. But the senior got behind the secondary and scored a long touchdown pass with 50 seconds left in the game to pull out the win. Napoleon took a 7-0 lead on a 4-yard run by Nick Marienfeld in the first quarter. Michigan Center pulled within one point on a touchdown pass from Daylen Hinkle to Mitchell Corwin with less than three minutes remaining in the game. The Pirates went for it on fourth-and-3 but did not make the first down to close out the game with 90 seconds remaining in the contest. Hinkle hit Hiland for a 50-plus yard touchdown late in the contest for the win. Bart Laretz led Napoleon with 134 yards rushing and eight tackles on defense. Hiland finished with more than 150 yards of offense for Michigan Center. Napoleon can force a three-way tie for the Cascades Conference title with a win over Addison next Friday and a Michigan Center victory over East Jackson.

Manchester 24, Hanover-Horton 14: The Comets could not overcome a 21-0 halftime deficit at Manchester.

Lumen Christi 48, Pennfield 8: Derrick Walker ran for 78 yards and three touchdowns in the first half for the Titans. Gabe King also ran for 95 yards and scored one touchdown for Lumen Christi (6-1 overall). Conor Smith recovered a fumble and had a sack on defense for the Titans and Joe Lathers had an interception.
Reading 32, Springport 20: The game was delayed because of lightning in the area on Friday.
Western 28, Marshall 7: The Panthers took a 21-0 lead on two touchdowns by Lincoln Raczkowski and Caden Oliver. Oliver scored the final touchdown for Western in the third quarter. Nolan Wheeler finished with 109 passing yards for Western (5-2). Oliver rushed for 85 yards on 18 carries for the Panthers. Landon Heavy and Raczkowski each finished with nine tackles for Western.
Volleyball

Hanover-Horton Invitational: Western High School won the Gold Division with a win over Adrian in the finals. Northwest and Hanover-Horton both advanced to the Gold Division semifinals.
Concord Invitational: Concord High School finished 6-0 in pool play with wins over Olivet, Burr Oak, and Clinton. The Yellow Jackets defeated Union City in bracket play, but fell to Onsted in the semifinal round. Onsted won the tournament with a victory over Madison.
Cross country

Hudson Invitational: Columbia Central High School finished 11th in the girls’ upper division. Hope Wilkes finished 14th individually for CCHS in 21:42. Jacob Walker was third in the boys’ race in 16:53. East Jackson boys finished seventh in the boys’ lower division and Jackson Prep placed 12th. David Loomis of EJHS was 23rd in 19:01.
Northwest at Olivet: Northwest High School finished fourth in the girls’ race and fifth in the boys’ event. Lainey Reynolds finished 10th (22:31) and Stacia Hedrich was 11th (22:36) for Northwest. Hudson Cooper was 15th (18:30) in the boys’ 5K run.
Soccer
Michigan Center 4, Northwest 0: Carter Kosmet had two goals and an assist for the Cardinals. Nikolas Kosmet and Jaiden Tilford also scored goals for Michigan Center. Michael Van Riper finished with 10 saves earning the shutout win in goal. Michigan Center finishes the regular season with a 9-1-3 record.
