SAU logoSPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball program is set to host its second annual First Pitch Dinner on Saturday, Feb.7, 2015 inside the Ralph Carey Forum on the campus of SAU.

Former Major League Baseball pitcher Frank Tanana will be the keynote speaker for the event. Tanana, who was a first round pick by the California Angels in 1971, is a member of the Pro Athlete Outreach Board of Directors. The organization conducts Christ-centered programs and conferences to equip professional athletes, coaches and their families in making a positive impact in the world for Jesus Christ. Tanana, a three-time All-Star (’76, ’77, ’78), pitched eight seasons with the Detroit Tigers during his 21-year major league career and had 240 wins with a 3.66 earned run average.

Attendees will enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship. A silent auction will be available, signed baseballs by current Cougar players and a preview of the 2015 season by head coach Sam Riggleman.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with the dinner set for 6:45 p.m. All proceeds from the event will go to the SAU baseball program.
