Four Wrestlers to Battle for Championships on Saturday

Nick Marienfeld of Napoleon High School will battle for a state title on Saturday at the Michigan High School Athletic Association individual wrestling finals at Ford Field.

(March 4, 2022 11:20 PM) Four area wrestlers will battle for state individual titles on Saturday at the Michigan High School Athletic Association state wrestling finals at Ford Field.

Adam Haselius of Northwest will wrestle for a state title at 189 pounds in Division 2.

Napoleon wrestler Nick Marienfeld will attempt to become the first Pirate – not named Weatherspoon – to finish as an undefeated state champion at 160 pounds in Division 3.

Female wrestlers Danni Swihart of Hanover-Horton and Isabel Worthing of East Jackson will battle for titles at 135 and 140 pounds respectively.

Sixteen other Jackson County wrestlers are guaranteed all-state medals on Saturday.
