(August 8, 2021 6:10 PM) More than 600 runners and walkers participated in Run Clark Lake on Saturday. 

The event was returning after postponing the race due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Run Clark Lake did not include a 12K event, but a 5K run, 5K walk, and a kids’ run. 

The race is the sixth of nine races in the Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists racing series. 

Evan Gaynor of Waterville, Mich., won the 5K event in 15 minutes, 19.1 seconds. The 2019 winner Ben Utz of Hanover was seven seconds behind Gaynor in 15:26. 

Aaron Usher was third overall and won the men’s masters division in 16:17, Mike Camilleri was fourth in 16:28, and Jacob Singleton of Spring Arbor finished fifth overall with a time of 16:42. 

Megan Hubbard of Hanover won the women’s 5K even in 18:19. Chris Vincent won the women’s masters title in 22:01. 

David Swarts of Jackson won the 5K walk in 25:55 and Janet Scott of Horton won the women’s 5K walk in 34:28.
