Player of the Year
JTV will be naming a JTV Girls Basketball Player of the Year in a different fashion this year. Jackson County coaches nominated player for a poll that we will be running for approximately five days. This is not a popularity contest, as players will be receiving points toward the player of the year honor. That means your girl may win the poll, but not be named as JTV Player of the Year.
Here is how the voting works:
- Jeff Steers (writer and photographer who has shot 50-plus girls basketball games this season) and Noah Baker (producer who does a majority of the highlight videos and produces live games) will each choose their top five.
- The vote of the fans will count as a third vote with the top five receiving points.
- We add up the points and that player is our JTV Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year.
Look for a feature with a photo once the JTV Player of the Year has been named.
