(1-6-2026, 10:30PM): Columbia Central started fast and never let up on the gas to secure a Cascades win over Leslie.
The Golden Eagles had an electrifying display of basketball against Leslie from the start where Gabby Gaydosh laid it up on a fast break off the opening tip. Then off the inbound Kolie Brown stole the ball and scored. Gaydosh took the ball from the Blackhawks and scored again followed by Rylee Knapp doing the same to take an 8-0 lead before the Blackhawks were able to cross half court with possession.
Amiyah Lambka splashed home an elbow and a corner 3 to close out the quarter with a 17-3 advantage. The Golden Eagles would then go on a 17-0 run that was stopped by Hailey Creisher sinking two free throws. Columbia Central went into halftime with a 39-8 lead after a Lambka buzzer-beater 3-pointer.
Knapp put the first points on the board in the 3rd with a baseline midrange bucket followed by Cecilia Slat draining a corner 3. In the quarter, the Golden eagles were 5 of 8 from the line.
Leslie’s Raquel Spalding hit a corner 3 and Wing had a buzzer beater layup to end the third. Columbia Central won quarter three 10-6. The Golden Eagles kept their stride in the fourth as Molly Sierer converted an offensive board into a reverse layup to open up the quarter, propelling her squad to outscore Leslie 13-5 in the quarter; and for a 62-19 final.
Columbia Central’s constraining defense, fast break opportunities, and offensive persistence led to a dominant 43 point victory at home. Cecelia Slat led the Golden Eagles with 15 points. Gabby Gaydosh added 12 points and Amiyah Lambka tallied 10 points.
