(5-28-2026, 11:15PM): The Greyhounds dominated time of possession and shot differential in a six goal shutout district final win at home over Columbia Central on Thursday.
Eaton Rapids started the game off hot, getting 10 of the first 11 shots. Sophia Lofstrom had a diving save to stop the first on target shot. Kennedie Crow cashed in on that 11th shot, weaving her way through defenders after the Chloe Look assist. The Greyhounds took the 1-0 lead with 25:22 remaining in the first half.
The next 5 shots, including a Hannah Garity goal, were also put up by the Greyhounds. Garity was able to thread the needle, placing the ball between two defenders and finding the back of the net; assisted by Addyson Schultz. With 15:30 left in the first, Eaton Rapids led 2-0, that score held for the rest of the half.
Almost immediately, the Greyhounds get onto the scoreboard again to start the second half. Schultz set up Delaney Collins to extend the lead to a three goal margin with 38:55 left in the game. Chloe Look hit the cross bar on a long distance shot. Finding the rebound was Garity and assisted Look who sent the ball into the bottom left corner on another long distance shot. Greyhounds lead the Golden Eagles by four with 28:44 remaining.
Within a couple minutes of the last goal, Eaton Rapids had a corner kick opportunity that resulted in another Greyhound goal. Garity set up Estella Peterson for a header to inflate the lead to 5. The Greyhounds were not done scoring; with 6:30 remaining Kennedie Crow got Eaton Rapids sixth goal and her own second to finalize the district title with the six goal shutout victory.
The Greyhounds had 32 shots compared to just 2 shots by Columbia Central, both by Mara Henry. Columbia Central finishes the season at 13-8-1 overall, Eaton Rapids will face the district final winner of Grosse Ile vs Ida in the Regional Semifinal next week.
