Golden Eagles Look To Compete In 2024

It was a new conference and a lot of new competition in 2023 for the Golden Eagles.

2023-24 was the first school year of the expanded 12-school (east/west) Cascades Conference. After finishing with an overall record of 4-5, the Eagles are looking to get back into the playoffs for the first time since 2018 with what feels like a more open Cascades West.

Head Coach Dylan Zaborowski is entering his third season at the helm of Columbia Central. “He brings great energy, knows the game. He can relate to players. Brings the best out of the team and he expects to win” the players say of Zaborowski.

Key returners for the Golden Eagles include seniors Shane Taylor (OLB/OL), Nic Richardson (QB/WR/DB), Blake Hoskins (LB/TE), Jordan Cromwell (DB/WR), Christian Millican (DB/WR), Peyton Denning (DB/WR), AJ Soto (OL/DL), and junior Dylan Boone (OL/DL).

Newcomers expected to make an impact include sophomores Bauston Pilaczynski (RB/LB) and Trent Troyer (WR/DB) along with juniors Blake Evans (RB/LB) and Conor Rentfrow (QB/WR/DB).

Newcomers from other sports including soccer are also expected to make an impact for the Golden Eagles this year.

Columbia Central also brings in a new Defensive Coordinator for 2024. Jared Hall comes to CCHS after being at Manchester previously.

Coach Zaborowski expects this year’s team to continue its upward trend and compete for a conference title and playoff spot. “Continue to build this program the right way. Compete in everything we do, love each other, and chase trying to be the best versions of ourselves (on and off the football field)” said Zaborowski.
