Golden Eagles Top Concord in Runway Invitational

(1-4-2025, 5:20PM): Two freshmen led the way for the Columbia Central Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Concord 59-29 at the Runway Invitational presented by Jackson College and Under Armour.

After a 2-2 tie to begin the game, Columbia went on a 19-8 run to lead 21-10 after the opening quarter. Freshman Gabby Gaydosh scored eight points in the opening frame.

The Eagles led by as much as 32 in the contest, halfway through the final quarter.

Columbia Central would go on to cruise to a 59-29 victory on Saturday afternoon over Concord in non-conference action.

Gabby Gaydosh led the Eagles with 19 points, Freshman Leelyn Brown added 9. Concord was led by Hannah Stimer with 14 points and Grace Thorrez added 13.

CC improves to 4-3 and will play next on Tuesday at Napoleon, Concord falls to 5-2 and will play at Reading on Tuesday.
