NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick must circle the August race at Michigan International Speedway on his calendar each year.

Harvick won for the third time at the Brooklyn track taking the Consumers Energy 400 on Sunday. All of his wins have been at the August event at MIS.

He won the same race in August last year.

Harvick took the lead with 17 laps remaining by passing Joey Logano. Logano dominated the second half of the race before nearly running out of fuel.

Harvick recovered from a punctured front tire early in the race to pull out the win.

“It was a day of a little bit of adversity that we were able to overcome,” Harvick said following the win. “We had a really fast car all weekend.”

Michigan native Brad Keselowski dominated the first half of the race, but spun and finished 19th in the race.

A Michigan driver has yet to win at MIS.

Rounding out the top 10 were Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr., Daniel Suarez, Kyle Bush, Ryan Preese, William Byron, Chase Elliott, and Alex Bowman.
