(June 8, 2020 11:54 AM) Henry Ford Allegiance Health reports encouraging milestones in their COVID-19 response. As of June 4, there are two individuals positive for COVID-19 who are inpatients at Henry Ford Allegiance Health, and 161 individuals with COVID-19 have been successfully treated on an inpatient basis and released. As a result of sustained progress, Henry Ford Allegiance Health recently closed its Incident Command Center, which coordinated the hospital’s COVID-19 operational needs.

The hospital’s Incident Command Center opened on March 13 to begin preparing an emergency response to the anticipated outbreak of COVID-19 in the community. Henry Ford Allegiance Health reached its peak during the COVID-19 pandemic, with 55 individuals positive for COVID-19 who were inpatients at Henry Ford Allegiance Health.

“We want to thank our hardworking team members for their dedication throughout the COVID-19 outbreak. We could not have made it to this milestone without their tireless compassion and teamwork” said Wendy Boersma, Chief Nursing Officer, Henry Ford Allegiance Health. “While we recognize there is more COVID-19 response care ahead, we are hopeful about this turning point and have been making steady progress in resuming all health care services, in accordance with all recommended novel coronavirus guidelines to provide the safest care and cleanest facilities possible.”

Their efforts have made a life-saving difference,” said Courtland Keteyian, MD, Vice President of Population Health at Henry Ford Allegiance Health. “To continue the progress made in reducing the spread of COVID-19, we want to encourage community members to continue with proven safety practices, including washing hands often, practicing social distancing and wearing a mask in public.”
