(August 3, 2024 9:40 PM ET) Players in the 2024 Jackson Masters Golf Tournament got the full impact at Calderone Golf Club.
The course played nearly 6,900 yards in the opening round at the par 72 golf course.
But it did not seem to matter for some of the best players in the area.
Riley Hestwood shot a 5-under-par 67 to lead by two shots heading into the final round Sunday at Calderone.
After shooting even par on the front nine, Hestwood went five under par on the first five holes on the back nine pulling into the lead.
Bret Valkuchak is second following a 69, Mike Brockie, Cannor Risner, Greg Zeller, Jack Brockie, and Brian Coon are tied for third at 70.
Scott Denig and Rob Longbrake shot 1-under-par 71s and Cody Rowe and Harrison Chapman are at even par following 72s. Eleven players shot par or better in the opening round Saturday.
Play continues Sunday with golfers heading off at 8:08 a.m. and the lead group teeing off at 10:59. Viewers can follow the tournament on the Golf Genius app with the code PJW5ZR.
