(October 15, 2023 12:00PM) Several local teams are ranked high enough to enter the Michigan High School Athletic Association football playoffs starting Friday, Nov 1st.
With two weeks remaining, some area teams need wins and some help from other teams.
Teams in the Jackson area who have already punched a ticket into the playoffs include Parma Western (Division 4), Lumen Christi (Division 6), Hanover-Horton, Leslie, Napoleon (Division 7), Springport, and Manchester (Division 8).
Teams in the area who need to pick up 1-2 more wins and other help to stay alive include Jackson (Div. 3), Michigan Center and Grass Lake (Div. 6), Jonesville (Div. 7), and Addison (Div. 8).
Schools on this list are divided by division and ordered by playoff average. The top 32 teams by playoff average in each 11-player division and top 16 teams by playoff average in each 8-player division will qualify for the MHSAA football playoffs beginning November 1st.
Divisions were determined prior to the start of the season, and the lists below include not only teams currently positioned to potentially qualify but also the next eight teams in each division.
To review a list of all state football playoff schools, individual school playoff point details and to report errors, visit the Football Playoff Point Summary page of the MHSAA Website.
