(8-15-2025, 12:00PM): Following an 0-9 season, Hillsdale looks to build culture.
Joe Williamson is returning for his 2nd year with the Hornets as the head coach. He believes if they play their best they can compete with anyone.
Seniors who are poised to make an impact include Thayden Welch (WR/DB), Ashton Thornsbury (WR/DB), and Josh Herring (OL/DL).
Others expected to make an impact are Evan Towe (QB/DB), Cam Arnold (RB/LB), Kaden Sorrell (WR/LB), and Nolan Francis (OL).
Williamson will also be the offensive coordinator for Hillsdale and looks to get the ball to athletes in space. Defensive coordinator, Kraig Putnam, will be returning for his second year to lead the speedy Hornet defense.
Hillsdale strives to get better as Williamson continues to build the program and the culture. His first full off-season has helped him and his staff see areas to improve more clearly.
A leadership council has been implemented this offseason to help reinforce team values and have more of a “buy in” culture. Alongside that, there is an inhouse competition with Hornet Football. The team is split into 5 groups and the competition is based on attendance, grades, and going to other school sporting events. The reward is a trophy. The goal is to encourage player leadership.
