The city of Jackson has been selected for an Arts-Based Community Development Investment, the Consumers Energy Lighted Glass Mural “Our Town” Project. Grant Bauman, Arts & Cultural Alliance described the project as a restoration and relocation of the mural that was in the lobby of the former Consumers Energy building at 212 West Michigan. The grant will go towards building a structure to house the sculpture in the new expanded Blackman Park. A crowdfunding project will begin soon to cover the remaining costs. Other guests: State Representative Mike Shirkey; Jackson native and author Kay Rae Chomic; Carrie Benham, Naturalist, Dahlem; Jim Murray, AT&T Michigan President; Ric Walton, Walton Insurance Group.
