(July 22, 2021 11:42 AM) The Michigan Department of Transportation will close Shirley Drive in Jackson starting Monday, July 26 at 9 AM for approximately one month as part of the I-94 Project.
MDOT will close Shirley Drive between Springport Road and Clark Street to install a box culvert. Shirley Drive is scheduled to reopen on August 26 following the completion of this portion of the project.
This work is part of MDOT’s ongoing $120 million project to rebuild and widen I-94 near the Airport Road interchange to just west of the east US-127/I-94 interchange in Blackman and Leoni Township. The I-94 project involves upgrading the US-127/M-50 (West Avenue)/I-94 interchange to a diverging diamond interchange, the Elm Road interchange with roundabouts, and the Lansing Avenue bridge over I-94.
Shirley Drive traffic will be detoured via Parnall Road and Lansing Avenue. Please follow posted detours. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. Access to businesses along Shirley Drive will be maintained at all times.
