(December 6, 2022 5:06 PM) The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will have various lane restrictions in place in the Jackson area as part of the ongoing $120 million investment to rebuild and widen I-94 near the Airport Road interchange to just west of the east US-127/I-94 interchange in Blackman and Leoni Township. The I-94 project involves upgrading the US-127/M-50 (West Avenue)/I-94 interchange to a diverging diamond interchange, the Elm Road interchange with roundabouts, and the Lansing Avenue bridge over I-94.

The closures will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022 with a completion date of Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022.

Traffic restrictions:
The Springport Road entrance ramp to southbound US-127/M-50 will be closed for the installation of a sign on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Traffic will be detoured via northbound US-127 to the Parnall Road interchange to enter southbound US-127/M-50.   

Westbound I-94 will be closed between M-106 (Cooper Street) and US-127/M-50/West Avenue for the placement of a sign truss on Saturday, Dec. 10. Traffic will be detoured via M-106 (Cooper Street) north to Parnall Road, west along Parnall Road to US-127/M-50, then south along US-127/M-50 to enter westbound I-94.

Southbound US-127/M-50 will be closed between Springport Road and I-94 for the placement of a sign truss on Saturday, Dec. 10. Traffic will be detoured via Springport Road, west to Airport Road, then south along Airport Road to enter I-94.

Westbound I-94 will have a single-lane closure between Lansing Avenue and US-127/M-50/West Avenue for the installation of a sign on Wednesday, Dec. 7. 

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
