Jackson College commencement exercises will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6 in the Harold Sheffer Music Hall, Potter Center, on Central Campus.
 
Students completing their graduation requirements in fall 2016, winter or spring 2017 semesters are invited to participate in commencement. Jackson College has more than 600 eligible graduates this year. This commencement will see the graduation of Jackson College’s first bachelor’s degree candidate, Rose Isaacson of Jackson, who will receive a Bachelor of Science in Energy Systems Management. Congratulations to those graduates completing their degrees and certificates!
 
The program will include comments from President Dr. Daniel J. Phelan, presentation of the Dr. Ethelene Jones Crockett Distinguished Alumni Award to Dr. Jon Lake, the Distinguished Service Award to Bart and Karen Hawley, and comments from class representative, graduate Laurie Sexton of Jackson. Sexton is completing her Associate in Arts and Associate in Applied Science – Graphic Design. After graduation, she plans to continue working as a marketing specialist at Automated Logistics Systems in Jackson, where she began as an intern and now works full-time. She has been involved with Student Government and played in the Jackson Community Concert Band, in addition to her classes.
              
  Also participating in the commencement ceremonies will be the Jackson Community Concert Band and members of the Jackson Chorale and the Jackson College Voice Class. Admission is by ticket only. Graduates and families are invited to a reception afterward in the Robert Snyder Dining Commons, Potter Center.
