(May 2, 2020 3:53 PM) The Jackson County Health Department released the COVID-19 positive numbers for Jackson County.  As of 12 PM today, there are 360 positive cases (cumulative), and 22 deaths (cumulative)*.

Note on today’s report of positive cases.  On Friday, the Jackson County Health Department reported 381 positive cases but withdrew the report shortly after posting.  Health Officer Rashmi Travis said  the data needed to to be extensively cleaned up to remove individuals from other counties.  Travis said this afternoon the correct number of positive cases in Jackson County is 360.  The difference between this number and what the state is reporting is the result of the state using the incorrect data in its report.

The Michigan Department of Corrections is reporting as of 11:30 PM May 1, there are 637 Confirmed Positive Cases at Jackson Facilities, 118 Confirmed Positive Jackson Staff.

As of 12 p.m. on Friday, May 1, there are 34 individuals with positive COVID-19 results who are inpatients at Henry Ford Allegiance Health. One additional person under investigation is hospitalized at HFAH. To date, a total of 100 positive COVID-19 HFAH inpatients have been treated and discharged.

*These numbers do not reflect any cases or deaths identified through Michigan Department of Corrections.  Their numbers are listed under a separate category “MDOC” for the Michigan Statistics.
