Barbasol Open in Kentucky: Napoleon High School graduate Brian Stuard finished tied for 33rd at the PGA Tour event. He finished with rounds of 73, 66, 69, and 69. Stuard is expected to move up to 186 on the Fed Ex Cup Series points list. The top 125 earn playing privileges in the 2023-2023 season. Stuard is entered in the Barracuda Championship in California this week as he attempts to move up in the Fed Ex points with three weeks until the playoffs.
Mercer/Jackson Junior Golf Tour: Players in the Mercer/Jackson Junior Golf Tour will compete for the city championship Monday at Ella Sharp Park. The one-day meet will crown champions in various age classes.
Joe Fiero City Senior Tournament: Sharp Park will host the Joe Fiero City Senior Tournament Saturday and Sunday. Jim Coutu shot a 69 in the final round to win the championship flight event last year. Harold West won the title in the 60-plus event last year.
