Soccer

Mason 4, Jackson 0: For more than 45 minutes the Jackson High School Vikings held Mason in check in soccer on the road Tuesday night. But with three key players out for the Vikings, it was only a matter of time before the Bulldogs started scoring. Mason scored with less than 30 seconds remaining in the first half and scored three more times in a 4-0 win over the Vikings. With the loss Jackson is now 2-3 on the season. “Mason is always strong and one of the top teams in the state in Division 2,” Jackson Coach Travis Baker said. “We are down two starting defenders and a midfielder, so we knew it was going to be tough.” Mason scored six minutes into the second half to break open a 1-0 game. They scored two more goals in the second half. The Bulldogs outshot Jackson 13-2. Jackson goalie Zoe Langley made 10 saves in goal for the Vikings. The rest of the afternoon and night was a snow-out for Jackson County as every other event was canceled.
