(November 8, 2023 6:12 AM ET) City of Jackson voters on Tuesday elected Daniel Mahoney to a second term as Mayor.  Mahoney defeated challenger John Wilson, 2,020 to 1,741 votes.

In City council races, Ward 2 incumbent Council Representative Freddie Dancey was elected to another term, over Peter Bormuth 203 to 169 votes.  

Ward 4 will be represented by Connor Wood, who defeated Diane Toman, 318 to 257.

Incumbent Ward 6 Representative Will Forgave was reelected 882 votes to challenger Steve Ansuini’s 383 votes.

Treasurer Martin Griffin, running unopposed, was reelected.

City of Jackson voter turnout was 15.62%.

The $17.44M Bond Proposal for Napoleon Community Schools passed by a margin of 825 to 751.  Voter turnout in the district was 21.43%. The estimated millage that will be levied for the proposed bonds in 2024 is 1.62 mills.

The Jackson College Millage Proposal was turned down by voters, 11,202 to 8,435. The millage, if passed, would have allowed the college to restore its originally authorized charter millage rate of 1.33 mills (an increase of 0.1973 mils) for security, infrastructure and cyber security investment.  Jackson County voter turnout was 15.81%.

Longtime Parma Township Supervisor Wendy Chamberlain lost the special recall election to challenger Bobbie Norman, 433 to 181.  Norman will replace Chamberlain and serve the remainder of the supervisor term through November 2024.  Voter turnout in Parma was 28.11%.
