American 1 Credit Union Announces New Jackson County Branch Location

American 1 Credit Union is pleased to announce that it will open an additional branch in Jackson, Michigan.

The new full-service branch, located at the corner of Robinson Road and West Michigan Ave, is set to open in late 2024. It will be attached to the newly constructed Kelly Fuels Mobil gas station and will feature extended hours for added convenience.

“We’re excited to open an additional banking location for our Jackson County members,” stated Keleigh Ballinger, Vice President of Branch Operations for American 1 Credit Union. “Offering convenient everyday banking to our members is important to us, and the addition of this new branch will allow us to continue to provide uncomplicated, personalized service that promotes financial wellness.”

The design of the new building will include additions and improvements to Kelly Express Mart offerings.  A larger building accommodates a full-service kitchen offering a wide menu including pizza.  The new Kelly Express will also have a walk in Beer Cave and a drive thru pickup window.

The Enterprise Group Welcomes Two New Additions to Its Team

The Enterprise Group is thrilled to announce the addition of two new members to our economic and community development team. Emily Weaver joins as our Project Manager – Economic Development, bringing her extensive experience in the automotive manufacturing industry while Sara Owen assumes the role of Executive Assistant, bringing her organizational skills from a variety of industries.

Emily comes with a wealth of knowledge gained from her previous roles in the manufacturing industry. With skills in marketing, sales and communications Emily is poised to make significant contributions to The Enterprise Group’s economic development division.

Similarly, Sara arrives with a strong background in administrative work in multiple industries. Sara has demonstrated significant organizational, communication, and time management skills making her an invaluable addition to the team at The Enterprise Group.

Cascades Humane Society Welcomes Stefanie Riggs as New Executive Director

The Cascades Humane Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Stefanie Riggs as its new Executive Director. Stefanie brings a wealth of experience and a dynamic, results-oriented approach to her new role, making her an exceptional addition to the team.

Stefanie is a proven leader with a distinguished track record in public relations, marketing, communications, and fundraising. In her more than 35 years in the Jackson community, she has received numerous community awards and led various boards, demonstrating expertise in driving organizational growth and enhancing brand awareness through strategic initiatives. She most recently served as the Executive Director of Development & Community Relations at the Jackson YMCA since 2019. Her ability to cultivate relationships with stakeholders, implement innovative marketing campaigns, and secure funding to support mission-driven objectives has set her apart as a leader in the Jackson community.

Jackson Native & Resident John B. Midgley Named President of The Society of American Magicians

John B. Midgley, a native Jackson, Michigan resident and prominent figure in the international magic scene, has been appointed as the President of The Society of American Magicians (SAM). This prestigious role has historically been held by notable magicians, including the legendary Harry Houdini.

John B. Midgley, known for his dedication to the art of magic and his contributions to the community, has been a member of the S.A.M. For over a decade. His appointment as president is a testament to his exceptional skills, leadership, and passion for the magical arts. Midgley’s journey in magic began many years ago, inspired by the greats, including Houdini, whose legacy continues to influence magicians worldwide.

The Society of American Magicians, founded in 1902, is the oldest and most prestigious magic organization in the world. Its mission is to advance, elevate, and preserve the art of magic. Over the years, the society has been home to many renowned magicians who have contributed to its rich history and traditions. Harry Houdini, one of the most famous magicians in history, served as SAM’s president from 1917 until his death in 1926. Midgley’s appointment marks a continuation of this illustrious legacy, bringing honor and recognition to the local community.

A celebration event will be held in Dallas, TX on September 1st, 2024 where John B. Midgley will be formally introduced as the new president of The Society of American Magicians.

County National Bank Welcomes Teffany Dickey as AVP Retail Lending Officer

Joseph R. Williams, President and CEO of County National Bank (“CNB”), is pleased to announce the hiring of Teffany Dickey as Assistant Vice President – Retail Lending Officer. “We are very excited to add someone with Teffany’s experience and background to lead our Retail Lending Team. Teffany understands what it means to be a community banker, and she will help us continue to build relationships and grow our retail lending portfolio,” stated Chris J. Clarke, Senior Vice President – Senior Loan Officer.

Teffany comes to CNB with four years of experience in mortgage and retail loan origination and underwriting. She has a bachelor’s degree from Siena Heights University in Comprehensive Education and Childhood Development, and was an elementary teacher prior to joining the banking industry. Her passion for people and interest in developing relationships led her to pursue a career in community banking. Teffany’s expertise includes the regulations and requirements for Freddie Mac and FHLBI (Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis) and lending compliance. Teffany is looking forward to building new relationships and pursuing leadership opportunities at CNB.

Teffany volunteers for numerous community events and serves as a volleyball coach. She is married to Jacob Dickey, and together they have three sons.
