
Jackson College Jets baseball finished another winning season, taking second place in the MCCAA Eastern Conference and gaining a berth in the NJCAA Region XII Tournament.
The Jets finished the season with a 22-6 conference record and 31-15 overall record. Coach Rick Smith said all the conference pitching will be back for next year, which should be a good start for the 2020 season.
Receiving season awards for the Jets are:
- Eric Hildebrand, pitcher, All-Region XII Team, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Conference, All-Freshman Team. Hildebrand, of Chesterfield, appeared in 11 games and had 5 wins, 1 loss, ERA of 2.83 and struck out 62.
- Ty Peck, outfielder, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Conference. Peck, from Adrian, played in 42 games with a batting average of .410, with 53 runs, 29 RBI and 2 home runs.
- Alex Lord, pitcher, Second Team All-Conference, All-Freshman Team. Lord, of Britton, had 12 appearances with the Jets, with 7 wins and 2 losses, an ERA of 3.96 and struck out 51.
- Jared Pingitore, pitcher, infielder, Second Team All-Conference, All-Freshman Team. Pingitore, of Carlton, played in 40 games and had a batting average of .403, scoring 37 runs, 40 RBI and 2 home runs.
- Justin Gelso, pitcher, Third Team All-Conference. Gelso, of Ida, had 17 appearances with the Jets, with 5 wins, no losses and 4 saves; his ERA was 3.12 and he struck out 39.
- Josh Beck, catcher, Honorable Mention All-Conference. Beck, of Whiteford, played in 25 games with the Jets and had a .402 batting average, with 12 runs, 19 RBI and 2 home runs.
- Scott Lobbestael, pitcher/catcher, Honorable Mention All-Conference. Lobbestael, of Manitou Beach, had a batting average of .356, with 14 runs and 28 RBI.
- Zac Capaldi, infield, Honorable Mention All-Conference. Capaldi, of Chesterfield, played in 36 games with a .390 batting average; he had 31 runs, 25 RBI and 2 home runs.
- Phil Griffor, shortstop, Honorable Mention All-Conference. Griffor, of Marysville, has played in 43 games and has a .374 batting average, with 44 runs, 27 RBI and 2 home runs.
- Joe Jones, infielder, Honorable Mention All-Conference. Jones, of Blissfield, played in 41 games and had a .340 batting average, with 31 runs, 26 RBI and 1 home run.
