(March 23, 2021 3:26 PM) Jackson Public Schools announced today that a JHS Varsity Basketball player has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Additionally, the district was also informed that a second JHS student, unrelated to JHS Varsity Basketball, was diagnosed with COVID-19. In an abundance of caution with Jackson High School and the large number of students named in close contact with the positive cases, JPS will pivot back to online learning for the remainder of this week at Jackson High School/Jackson & Pathways ONLY.
Jackson High School and Pathways will be virtual Wednesday (3/24) and Thursday (3/25) off on Friday (3/26) for the already scheduled spring break. All students will return to in-person learning on Monday April 5, 2021.
Individuals who had direct contact with the positive COVID-19 cases have been contacted and have been advised to quarantine for 10 days. JPS asks that all staff and students continue to monitor for symptoms and are encouraged to test/quarantine if they experience symptoms.
Consequently, JHS has canceled its Varsity Basketball District Playoff Game at Okemos High School this evening, Tuesday, March 23, 2021.
