Baseball

Concord 6, Quincy 1: The Yellowjackets scored six runs in the first two innings to earn a split in the Big Eight Conference game. Jordan Medellin and Carter Arbuckle each had two hits and an RBI for Concord. Gavin Riske scattered four hits and struck out four batters for CHS. 

Quincy 5, Concord 4: Quincy scored one run in the last inning to pull out the victory. Landen Lynn recorded two hits and knocked in two runs for the Yellowjackets. 

Northwest 11, Western 2: The Mounties earned its first win of the season scoring seven runs in the first inning. Douglas Putnam finished with two hits and a pair of RBIs for Northwest. Western finished with six hits as Jack LaPorte had two hits and knocked in one run. 

Western 14, Northwest 10: Jack Luke hit a grand slam in the third inning leading Western to 11 runs. Alex Trudell finished with three hits and three RBIs for the Panthers. Northwest was led by Douglas Putnam with two hits and two RBIs and Carter Fairley knocked in three runs. 

Cardinal Mooney 5, Lumen Christi 4: Mooney scored twice in the seventh inning to pull out the victory. Kash Kalahar and Blake Hetherington each finished with two hits for the Titans. 

Softball

Quincy 5, Concord 2: The Yellowjackets were limited to three hits in the contest. Riley Adams struck out five batters in six innings pitched for Concord. Game two was halted in the sixth inning with the score tied at 10-all. It will be resumed Thursday.

Lumen Christi 1, University Liggett 0: Bella Wrozek pitched a no-hitter and drove in the only run for the Titans. Ava Cumberworth finished with two hits for the Titans. 

Lumen Christi 12, University Liggett 1: LCCHS pitcher Bella Wrozek made it two no-hitters in game two. Codi Ruge, Lily Ganton, Wrozek, and Aubrey Clark each had multiple hits for LCCHS. Mallory Arcaro hit a home run for the Titans. 

Northwest 14, Western 0: Addi Moore collected two hits – including a home run – and knocked in four runs for the Mounties. Lucy Bivens earned the pitching win giving up only three hits and striking out nine batters. Bayli Stewart finished with two of the hits for Western. 

Northwest 17, Western 5: Addi Moore collected four hits and knocked in two run for the Mounties. Ava Golightly finished with four hits and Lucy Bivens knocked in four runs for Northwest. Peyton Budd and Nicole Wilson each had two hits for Western. 

Boys Track and Field

Hanover-Horton Tri-Meet: Hanover-Horton defeated Columbia Central 92-44 and Addison 114.5-20.5. The Golden Eagles beat Addison 96-28. Graham Gumper won the long jump (21-5) and the 100-meter dash (11.16) for Hanover-Horton. Kaleb Pffafinger of CCHS won the 110-meter hurdles (17.7) and the 300-meter hurdles (45.21). Leslie Tri-Meet: Leslie High School defeated East Jackson 94-30 and Grass Lake (82-45) at home Tuesday. Grass Lake beat East Jackson 75-41. Nate Pettit won the pole vault (11-0) for Grass Lake and Michael Allen took first in the 400-meter dash (53.95). Napoleon Tri-meet: The Pirates defeated Michigan Center 101-36 and Manchester 96-41 at home Tuesday. Manchester beat Michigan Center 72-65 in the other meet. Haden McLain won the 200-meter (23.4) and the 400-meter dash (53.8), and Kyler Pequet won the 800-meter (2:18), 1,600-meter (5:02), and the 3,200-meter (11:15) for Napoleon. Jackson at Adrian SEC Quad: The Vikings defeated Ypsilanti Community (98-30) but lost to Tecumseh (73-63) and Adrian (76-61). Kyson Cooper won the 100-meter dash (11.33) and Ahmad Ameen won the 400-meter dash (49.64) for Jackson.

 

Girls Track and Field

Hanover-Horton Tri-Meet: Hanover-Horton defeated Columbia Central 83-40 and Addison 76-47. Addison beat Columbia Central 70-33. Sophia Reynold took first in the 200-meter dash (28.86), the 400-meter dash (1:02), and the high jump (4-8) for the Comets. Madison Rentfrow won the pole vault (8-0) and Melyssa McJennett won the long jump (15-4) for CCHS. Leslie Tri-Meet: Grass Lake defeated East Jackson (87-18) and Leslie (72-36). Leslie beat East Jackson 56-37 in the other match. Ashleigh Simon won the 100-meter dash for the Warriors (13.73) and Mariah Kerley won the discus (97-7) and the shot put (32-3.5) for East Jackson. Napoleon Tri-Meet: Napoleon High School defeated Michigan Center 98-32 and Manchester 88-48 at home. Manchester beat Michigan Center 77-57 in the third meet. Lauren McLain two the 800-meter run (2:50) and the 1,600-meter run 6:23 for Napoleon. Ella Best won the high jump (4-7) for Michigan Center. Jackson at Adrian SEC Quad: The Vikings lost to Tecumseh (79-57), Ypsilanti (70-52), and Adrian (72-62). Everette Drummond took first in the 400-meter run (1:02) and Shaniah Mohead won the 100-meter dash (13.88) for JHS.

Girls Soccer

Leslie 4, Columbia Central 3: Leslie High School improved to 5-1 overall with the home win over CCHS. Mara Henry finished with two goals and an assist by Columbia Central. Kennedy Salter scored the other goal for CCHS (3-1). 

Boys Golf

Lenawee Christian 176, Jackson Christian 203: Lenawee Christian won the match at Wolf Creek Golf course. Nathan Locke finished with a 48 for Jackson Christian. 

I-8 at Pennfield Jamboree: Northwest (316) and Western (325) finished first and second respectively at the first Interstate-8 Conference 18-hole jamboree. Cody Rowe scored a 76 and J.J. Miller added a 78 to lead NWHS. Western was led by Eric Bonser with a 77, Hayden Kim scored a 78, and Andrew Boldt carded a 79. 

Girls Tennis

Northwest 6, Pinckney 2: Emma Flynn, Ivy Chen, and Ryali Shackleford won singles matches for the Mounties at Nos. 2-4 respectively. The Mounties are now 2-0-1 on the season. 

College Athletic Events

Baseball

Kellogg Community College 13, Jackson College 6: Jackson College scored three times in the seventh inning, but it was not enough on the road in the nine-inning contest. Max Bowers hit a home run and finished with two hits and Jared Kramp added two hits and two RBIs for Jackson. The Jets are now 18-15 overall and will travel to Henry Ford College Thursday for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
