Columbia Central 57, Clinton 43: The Golden Eagles defeated its former LCAA rivals on the road Tuesday. Hailey Freshcorn scored 22 points, Kylee Knapp added 16 points, and Cece Slat finished with eight points for CCHS. 

Jackson Chrisitan 41, Battle Creek Academy 32: Ella Boll scored 16 points, pulled down 20 rebounds, and blocked five shots for JCHS in the win. Rennie Huff added 13 points and three steals for the Royals. 

Springport 54, Concord 45: Springport High School gained at least a share of the Big Eight Conference title with the victory. Both teams were 9-1 in conference play heading into the contest, and each have one conference game remaining Thursday. Concord cut the lead to five points in the final quarter but could not get any closer. “Tonight was our senior night … these girls have been playing together for as long as they can remember,” SHS Coach Rick Saldana said. “It was nice to see them play so hard tonight … like every night.” Rylee Siefert scored 19 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, Maddux Locke scored 18 points and dished seven assists, and Brenna Crittenden scored 13 points for the Spartans. Hannah Stimer scored 18 points, Cece Barrett finished with 14 points, and Bradie Lehman added 10 points for Concord (16-5 overall, 9-2 conference). 

Western 50, Lakeview 21: Rayah Hitt finished with 15 points and Bayli Stewart added 10 points and five steals for Western. 

Grass Lake 57, Jonesville 37

Tecumseh 43, Northwest 30

Jackson 63, Columbia Central 59 (from Monday): Jackson High School earned a home win on senior night against CCHS. The Vikings celebrated senior Akaiya Lidge before the game. 

College Athletic Events

Women’s Basketball

Jackson College 74, Macomb CC 61: Jackson College tied for the conference title in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Eastern Division with the home victory. Trinity Brown led four scorers in double digits with 15 points, Kaylon Butler added 14 points and four assists, Michelle McGee scored 11 points and dished six assists, and Zoey Bamm finished with 10 points for Jackson College (22-4 overall, 10-2 MCCAA). The Jets wait to see who they play in the playoffs. 

 

Spring Arbor 71, Huntington 57: Spring Arbor won its quarterfinal matchup at home against Huntington to begin the Crossroads League Tournament. The Cougars will play Indiana Wesleyan University in the semifinal round Friday. 

Men’s Basketball

Macomb CC 102, Jackson College 69: Antonio King finished with 19 points, Jo Coleman added 13 points, and Xavier Ford-Belton Tallied 11 points for Jackson College in its last home game of the season. Jackson College finishes the regular season with a 12-16 overall record, 4-10 in the MCCAA.
