Grass Lake 65, Quincy 41: Brayden Lape and Bryant Cook each scored 23 points to lead Grass Lake to the non-conference road win Tuesday.

Napoleon 38, Bath 24: The Pirates won a low scoring game at home Tuesday. Brenten Owen scored 16 points and Tyler Nall added 11 points for the Pirates.

Onsted 53, Hanover-Horton 44: The Comets fell on the road in non-conference action.

Whitmore Lake 59, East Jackson 57: The Trojans lost on the road Tuesday against Whitmore Lake.

Lansing Christian 53, Jackson Christian 35: Christian Guerrero scored eight points and pulled down eight rebounds and Jayden Schnitkey finished with eight points for the Royals.

Madison 62, Northwest 32: The Mounties fell at home to open the 2024-2025 season.

Springport 60, Sand Creek 38: The Spartans won its home opener in non-conference action.

Webberville 62, Vandercook Lake 49: The Jayhawks fell behind by 22 points in the first half but battled back within five points with less than five minutes remaining. Chris Jiminez scored 24 of his team-high 25 points in the second half. “That was the best performance I’ve seen by a group of young men with their backs against the wall in my five years here at Vandercook Lake,” Coach Cory Ray said.

Western 52, Tecumseh 49: The Panthers earned a non-conference win on the road Tuesday.

Jackson 55, Battle Creek Central 48: The Vikings outscored B.C. Central 19-6 in the third quarter to pull out the road win.

College Athletic Events

Men’s Basketball

Albion College Reserves 85, Jackson College 84: Savonn Campbell hit a short jumper with 12 second remaining in the game, but Albion pulled out the win with two free throws by Malachi Hooser with 1.6 seconds left. Cooper Johnston led Jackson with 24 points, Tareek Galadima added 12 points, and Campbell tallied 10 points. Jackson College will travel to Mid Michigan College next Wednesday for a 7:30 tipoff.

Spring Arbor 81, Kuyper 67: The Cougars earned its seventh consecutive win as five players scored in double digits. Dante Favor led Spring Arbor with 23 points and 14 rebounds and Gabe Newhof added 16 points. SAU is now 8-1 on the season.

Women’s Basketball

Oakland City 84, Spring Arbor 76: Alana Nelson scored 21 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead SAU. Bailey Vissman added 14 points and Emma Smieska finished with 13 points for SAU (7-3).

Jackson College 89, Muskegon CC 75: The Jets started slow but used defensive pressure to pull ahead. Jackson College is now 7-0 on the season with the home win. Emily Carbajal spurred the offensive output hitting a pair of 3-point shot to end the first and second quarters for Jackson. The Jets will travel to Mid Michigan College Wednesday for a 5:30 tip.
