Jackson Christian 3, Litchfield 0: Madi Conrad finished with 10 kills and five aces and Johannah Lowe fished 23 assists and eight aces for the Royals.
Pennfield 3, Northwest 2: The Mounties won the first and third sets but lost the next two falling 15-13 in the fifth set.
Boys Cross Country
Cascades Championships: Leslie High School won the Cascades Conference title Wednesday at Ella Sharp Park. Columbia Central finished third, Grass Lake was sixth, Napoleon placed seventh, and Michigan Center eighth. Caleb Blonde of Jonesville won the event in 16:21, Landen Boulis of Hanover-Horton was second (16:27), teammate Cooper Flick placed fourth (16:48), Wyatt Vowell of Columbia Central was eighth (17:08), and John Edler of Homer finished eighth (17:09). Girls Cross Country
Cascades Championships: Leslie High School also won the girls’ even with 23 points and Grass Lake was second scoring 52. Hailey Creisher of Leslie won the event in 18:50, Maisey Toteff of Hanover-Horton was second (19:58), Adalyn Jarchow of Grass Lake finished third (20:11) at Ella Sharp Park. Coldwater 3, Western 1: The Panthers fell in the Division 2 district final at Harper Creek Wednesday night.
D-3 at Lansing Catholic
Williamston 5, Columbia Central 0: The Golden Eagles ended its season with a loss in the district final at Lansing Catholic High School.
College Athletic Events
Volleyball
Jackson College 3, Oakland CC 1: The Jets earned a road win as Gracen Hager finished with 13 kills and Allie Jarchow and Mollie Boyle combined for 12 blocks for Jackson College. Jaden Bates recorded 22 digs and Alivia Smith finished with 36 assists for JC (15-6 overall, 5-3 MCCAA Eastern Division). The Jets will travel to St. Clair on Monday for a 7 p.m. matchup.
Spring Arbor 3, Goshen 0: The Cougars swept the home match improving to 11-10 overall for the season. Kendall Bollenbacher finished with 13 kills, Isabelle Kirkendall tallied 10 kills, Camy Wedge dished 22 assists and Kirstyn Throop created 14 digs for Spring Arbor.
Men’s Soccer
Jackson College 5, Lakeland CC 3: The Jets earned its second win of the season with a victory on the road. JC scored two goals in the first 10 minutes of the contest and led 3-1 at halftime. Jackson College is now 2-9-1 on the season. Jackson College travels to Kuyper College on Oct. 29 for its final game of the season.
Grace 1, Spring Arbor 0: The Cougars fell at home Wednesday night to Grace College of Indiana. Jack Cristini had two saves in net for Spring Arbor (8-6-1 overall, 2-3-1 CL).
Women’s Soccer
Jackson College 3, Lakeland CC 0: Franny Parks scored a pair of goals and Allie Russell added on goal for JC. Serenity Wieszciecinski and Taylor Crosslan combined for the shutout in goal for Jackson. The Jets are 8-1-2 overall, 5-0-1 in the region. Jackson will host Delta College Saturday at 1 p.m.
