Baseball

Columbia Central 6, Northwest 4: The Golden Eagles earned its 20th win of the season. The Mounties scored twice in the sixth and seventh innings but it was not enough. Blake Hoskins finished with two hits and an RBI for the Golden Eagles. Nick Wilding tallied 10 strikeouts for CCHS on the mound. Garrett Waldron finished with a pair of hits for the Mounties.

Northwest 16, Columbia Central 3: Alex Thrun, Garrett Waldron, and Carter Fairley each finished with three hits for the Mounties Thrun knocked in five runs and Waldron and Fairley two each. Lincoln Keathley earned the win scattering four hits in five innings for NWHS. Lukas Calhoun had one hit and knocked in a pair of runs for the Golden Eagles.

East Jackson 7, Morenci 4: The Trojans scored five times in the fourth inning to pull ahead in the first game of the East Jackson Dome Classic at home. Jake Saunders finished with a pair of hits and three RBIs for EJHS.

Springport 9, Morenci 3: Hunter Miller collected two hits and Gibson Overweg and Marshall Shoemaker each knocked in two runs for the Spartans. Shoemaker earned the pitching win with eight strikeouts and only one hit in six innings.

Springport 9, East Jackson 4: Springport went 2-0 on the day to claim the top prize in the East Jackson Dome Classic. The Spartans finished with 12 hits in the contest led by Hunter Miller with three hits and Gavin Lightner with two hits and three RBIs. Nate Ratliff and Christ Holloway each finished with one hit and an RBI for East Jackson.

Michigan Center 4, Hillsdale 2: The Cardinals won the first game of the Sand Creek Invitational over Hillsdale. Dylan Whitmill earned the pitching win with seven strikeout in seven innings.

Sand Creek 9, Michigan Center 0: The Cardinals lost in the championship round against Sand Creek despite giving up only four hits. They were limited to two hits in the contest.

Napoleon 10, Jonesville 0: The Pirates defeated Jonesville 10-0 in the Wood Bat Classic. Grant Bradley was the hero for Napoleon with three hits and four RBIs at the plate and 14 strikeouts on the mound.

Onsted 12, Napoleon 1: The Pirates lost in the second round of the tournament to Onsted. Grant Bradley and Lucas Hankis recorded the only hits for Napoleon.

Softball

East Jackson 4, Morenci 3: The Trojans won its third game of the season at home in the Dome Classic. East Jackson scored one run in the last inning to earn the victory. Emily Uyttenhove finished with a pair of hits and Kilah Boatright earned the win on the mound with six strikeouts.

Lumen Christi 11, Morenci 0: Codi Ruge had a big game with three hits and four RBIs in the contest. Bella Wrozek and Bree Okoniewski combined for a five-inning no hitter with a total of 11 strikeouts.

Lumen Christi 16, East Jackson 0: The Titans finished 2-0 on the day with a pair of shutout. Lily Ganton had three hits and knocked in five runs and Bella Wrozek added three hits and four RBIs for LCCHS. Wrozek and Codi Ruge combined on a one-hitter for the Titans. Addison Hendricks had the only hit for East Jackson.

Michigan Center 15, Hillsdale 4: Kylie McKee, Mackenzie Fredrickson, and Lilly Nutt all had a pair of hits for MCHS in the opening round of the Sand Creek Invitational.

Sand Creek 6, Michigan Center 0: Emily Pond finished with two hits for MCHS in the finals of the tournament.

Springport at Holt Invitational: The Spartans lost 9-7 to Holt, 13-4 to Orchard Lake St. Marys, and 13-1 against Howell. Brenna Crittenden, Morgan Shoemaker, and Areya Dean each had a pair of hits and two RBIs against the host school.

Girls Track and Field

Northwest at Hillsdale Invitational: The Mounties finished seventh at Hillsdale with 39 points. Mara Mitchell won the high jump (5-2) and was second in the shot put (32-7) and the long jump (14-2). For complete results go to https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/meet/520049/results/all.

Boys Track and Field

Northwest at Hillsdale Invitational: Northwest High School finished with 48 points, good for seventh place. Hudson Cooper finished first in the 400-meter dash running 51.8 seconds and Hunter Samulak was second in the long jump with a leap of 19-5.5. Girls Soccer

Western 3, Jackson 1: Maddy Cotey, Claudia Allen, and Nevaeh Hartshorn scored goals in the first half for the Panthers. Alaina Martindale scored the only goal for Vikings on a penalty kick.

Michigan Center 1, Northwest 0: Cecelia Scaife scored the only goal of the game for MCHS. Abbie Hess had five saves for Cardinals to earn the shutout.

Girls Tennis

Portland Quad: Western High School finished ahead of Traverse City St. Francis, Portland, and Big Rapids in the quad match.  Undefeated players in the quad were No. 1 doubles Dru Porter and Becca Brushaber, No. 2 doubles Gabi Davis and Leslie Kinder, No. 3 doubles Anna Wilcox and Karly Foster, and No. 4 doubles Silvia Baker and Sophia Nguyen.

Catholic High School League: Lumen Christi Catholic High School finished runner-up to St. Catherine in the league tournament held Saturday.
