Division 4 at Concord High School
Addison 4, East Jackson 1: The Trojans finished with eight hits but could only push across one run in the district semifinal at Concord. K.J. Oliver finished with three hits and an RBI and Jake Saunders had a pair of hits for East Jackson. The Trojans finish the season with a 9-24 overall record.
Concord 11, Litchfield 1: Carter Arbuckle struck out 10 batters and allowed only four hits as Concord won the district semifinal game at home Friday. Gavin Riske knocked in three runs and Jordan Medellin finished with two hits and two RBIs for Concord (16-13).
District Final: Concord 9, Addison 5: Gavin Riske was the hero for Concord with three hits and one RBI and six innings pitched. Nate Fritz, Carter Arbuckle, Levi Raymond, Jordan Medellin, and Lucas Tyler all finished with two hits in the 14-hit attack for Concord. The Yellowjackets advance to play the winners of the Mendon district Wednesday at home beginning at 5 p.m.
Softball District
Division 4 at Concord High School
East Jackson 16, North Adams-Jerome 2: The Trojans advanced to the district final with a lopsided win North Adams-Jerome Friday at Concord. East Jackson scored nine times in the third inning without the benefit of a hit. Fourteen walks and four errors were the downfall of NAJ.
Concord 5, Vandercook Lake 4: Madisyn Barrett knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning for Concord. She finished with four hits and one RBI. Rylee Adams earned the win on the mound for CHS with 10 strikeouts. Courtney Riddle finished with three hits and two RBIs for VCL.
District Final: East Jackson 6, Concord 4: Emily Uyttenhove knocked in two runs with a double in the seventh inning leading the Trojans to the district title. Hannah Stimer finished with two hits and two RBIs for Concord. Kilah Boatright earned the pitching win for EJHS with six strikeouts in 6.1 innings pitched. East Jackson (6-28) faces Reading at Dansville in the Division 4 regional next Saturday at noon.
State Tennis Finals
Western at D-3 State Final (Kalamazoo): Western High School is in eighth place after day one of the Division 3 state tennis finals at Kalamazoo with eight points. Dru Porter/Becca Brushaber advanced to the quarterfinals at No. 1 doubles for the Panthers. Gabi Davis/Leslie Kinder are in the semifinals Saturday at No. 2 doubles. Anna Wilcox/Karly Foster advanced to the quarterfinals at No. 3 doubles.
Lumen Christi at D-4 State Final (Ann Arbor): No team scores are posted on the MHSAA tennis site yet. Kate Ganton/Lexie Thornhill have wins at No. 1 doubles as do Maddison Arcaro/Lily Melnick at No. 2 doubles for Lumen Christi.
