Volleyball

Addison, Homer, Vandercook at Hanover-Horton: The host school defeated Vandercook Lake 3-0 and Addison 3-0. The Jayhawks also lost to Homer 3-0 in the Hanover-Horton Cascades Conference Quad.

Grass Lake, EJ at Cascades Quad at Columbia Central: CCHS defeated East Jackson 3-0 and Jonesville defeated the Trojans 3-0. The Golden Eagles lost 3-0 against Grass Lake at home Tuesday. Alison Richardson led CCHS with 20 kills, 27 assists, and 27 digs and Mara Henry added 17 kills and 33 digs. Grass Lake defeated Jonesville 3-0 in the other match of the night.

Michigan Center Quad with Napoleon, Manchester, Leslie: Manchester defeated Michigan Center 3-0 and Napoleon also won against the Cardinals in Cascades Conference Quad play. The Pirates also defeated Leslie on Tuesday night. Gracie Tallman finished with 22 kills, 15 blocks, and 36 digs. Myla Hasegawa tallied 26 digs and 21 kills and Emma Darnell added 38 digs and 25 assists for the Pirates.

Concord 3, Maple Valley 0: The Yellowjackets defeated Maple Valley 3-0 in Big Eight Conference play. Concord is now 3-0 in Big 8 play. Iyla Weeks finished with 15 kills, Annie Saenz added nine aces, and Bradie Lehman served 10 aces and dished 21 assists.

Boy’s Cross Country

Grass Lake, Columbia Central at Napoleon: Grass Lake won the tri-meet with 24 points and Napoleon finished second scoring 33 points. Connor Sherwood of Grass Lake won the event in 18:16, Jamison Swope of Napoleon was runner-up in 18:27, and teammate Andrew Norman finished third in 18:33.  Connor Sherwood of Grass Lake won the 5K event at Napoleon in 18:16.

 

Big 8 Jamboree at Bronson: Paul Herendeen of Concord finished sixth overall in 18:18.

East Jackson at Perry Invitational: Declan Phelps finished 15th in 23:05 for East Jackson.

Jackson hosts SEC Jamboree: The Vikings finished sixth as a team with 135 points. Hollis Mick was sixth overall in 17:28 for Jackson. For more information on the SEC jamboree at Ella Sharp Park go to  www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/meet/238862/info.    

Michigan Center at Manchester Small Teams: Manchester won the event (26 points), Jackson Prep was second (40), and Michigan Center third (60). Deigo BoCole of Jackson Prep was second in 18:53, Dallas Swaenepoel of Vandercook Lake placed fourth in 19:28, and Brayden Pepper of Michigan Center finished ninth in 21:16.  Girl’s Cross Country

Grass Lake, Columbia Central at Napoleon: Grass Lake won the event with 22 points and Napoleon was second scoring 36 points. Adalyn Jarchow of Grass Lake won the event in 20:33, Stephanie Hernandez of Addison was second in 21:41, and Madisyn Lindemann of Napoleon finished third in 21:49. East Jackson at Perry Invitational: Priya Mericle finished third overall in 22:22 and Audrey Genix was fourth with a time of 23:03 for East Jackson.

Michigan Center at Manchester Small Teams: Gabriela Harvel of Jackson Prep finished third (27:31) and Jadea Stevens of Michigan Center placed fifth (28:42) in the three team event. Northwest 5, Harper Creek 3: The Mounties swept the singles matches in the win. Mason Beecher, Gavin Rush, Nathan Cumings, and Reed Clark all won at Nos. 1-4, respectively for NWHS.
