Vandercook Lake 3, Maple Valley 0: The Jayhawks earned its first win of the season with a home victory over Maple Valley 25-15, 25-18, and 25-6.
Boy’s Cross Country
Addison Invitational: Columbia Central High School won the event with 38 points and Grass Lake placed fourth scoring 71 points at the Kuenner Invitational at Addison High School. Jack Gorton (17:39) and Wyatt Vowell (17:45) finished third and fourth respectively for CCHS. Jamison Swope of Napoleon was 10th (18:27) and Connor Sherwood of Grass Lake placed 13th (18:48).
Girl’s Cross Country
Addison Invitational: Onsted High School edged Grass Lake by one point (34-22) to win the event and Napoleon finished third with 83 points. Adalyn Jarchow of Grass Lake finished second (21:14), teammate Grace Bullock was fourth (22:06), and Madisyn Lindemann of Napoleon placed 11th (22:57).
Girls Golf
Cascades Jamboree at Hanover-Horton: Columbia Central won another jamboree this time at Cascades Golf Course. The Golden Eagles finished with a four-man total of 188. East Jackson was second (209), Concord third (221), Michigan Center finished fourth (243), Napoleon placed fifth (260), and Grass Lake was sixth (271). Kelsey Fausz took medalist honors with a career-best even par 37 and teammate Logan Bentley was second scoring 41. Anna McCubbins of Napoleon shot 45, Grace Thorrez from Concord carded a 46, and McKenna Worthing of East Jackson shot a 47.
Boys Soccer
Jackson Christian 5, Brighton Livingston 1: The Royals earned a non-conference win at home Tuesday. It is only the second goal given up by Jackson Christian this season. Drew Barney and J.D. Locke scored two goals apiece and Damian Orcasitas scored his first varsity goal for JCHS.
Jackson 3, Ypsilanti Community 3: The Vikings earned a tie on the road in Southeastern Conference action Tuesday.
Lumen Christi 3, Northwest 0: The Titans led 1-0 at halftime and tacked on two more goals in the second half for the home non-conference win.
Boys Tennis
Western 8, Marshall 0: Lucas Parrott, Aidan Carter, and Jack Spooner all won 6-0 at Nos. 1, 3, and 4 singles respectively for the Panthers.

Jackson College 3, Glen Oaks 0: The Jets swept the Vikings 25-13, 25-17, and 25-19 at home Tuesday. Michigan Center graduate Sam Wynn led the Jets with 13 kills and three aces. Gracen Hager added seven kills, Alivia Smith dished 20 assists, and Jaden Bates added 14 digs for JC. Jackson College is now 4-2 on the season. The Jets will travel to Adrian College next Tuesday for its next match.
