Boys Soccer

Jackson Christian 5, Lenawee Christian 2: The Royals earned a share of the Independent Soccer League title with the victory. Jayden Schnitkey scored a pair of goals and J.D. Locke, Damian Orcasitas, and Drew Barney added single goals for Jackson Christian. The Royals are now 12-2-1 on the season.

Jackson 5, Tecumseh 2: The Vikings earned a win on the road in Southeastern Conference action.  

Central Academy 3, Lumen Christi 1: Lumen Christi lost at home Monday night.

Girls Golf

Cascades Jamboree at Clark Lake: Columbia Central High School swept the jamborees scoring 187 at Clark Lake Golf Course Monday in a rescheduled event. Concord (216) edged East Jackson by three strokes, Napoleon was two strokes behind the Trojans, Michigan Center shot 226, Grass Lake carded 240, and Hanover-Horton finished seventh at 256. The Golden Eagles placed three golfers in the top five as Logan Bentley shot 37, Kelsey Fausz finished fourth scoring 45, and Marissa Berro tied for fifth with Drew Swihart and Mariah Kerley with 45s. Anna McCubbins of Napoleon shot a 40 and Kylie McKee of Michigan Center carded a 44.

Boys Tennis

Jackson 7, Hillsdale 1: The Vikings swept the doubles matches Ben Nichols/Joey Ortiz won 6-0 and 6-3 at No. 1 doubles; Berkley Drummond/Theodore Sykes won at No. 2 doubles; the Vikings won at No. 3 doubles with George Tobey/Peter Sykes; and Amaurion Moore/Joe Walraven earned a win at No. 4 doubles.

College Athletic Events

Volleyball

Macomb CC 3, Jackson 1: The Jets fell to 2-2 in Michigan Community College Athletic Association play with the road loss. Sam Wynn led JC with 14 kills, Alivia Smith dished 42 assists, and Jaden Bates finished with 25 digs for Jackson College (11-5 overall). The Jets travel to Schoolcraft College Wednesday for a 7 p.m. start.

Men’s Golf

Spring Arbor at Wilmington Inv. (Ill): The Cougars lead by eight strokes after the first round. Brady Krohn was two over of the opening round and Luke Fisher shot three over for SAU.
