Volleyball

Tecumseh Meet: Western High School defeated Grass Lake and Northwest but lost to Tecumseh in three sets. Bayli Stewart finished with 24 kills, J.J. Lewis had 30 digs, and Becca Brushshaber dished 39 assists for the Panthers. Grass Lake lost to Tecumseh, Western, and Dexter at the quad meet. Hanna Alvarez finished with 39 digs and Mia Buttigieg dished 42 assists for the Warriors. Northwest lost to Tecumseh and Dexter at the quad. Brooke Grant finished with six aces and 27 assists for the Mounties.

Jackson Christian 3, Pansophia Academy 0: The Royals won 25-7, 25-12, and 25-11 at home. Johannah Loew finished with five kills and 11 aces and Dylanie Cantrell added seven aces for Jackson Christian.

Concord at Coldwater Tri: The Yellowjackets defeated Hudson but lost to Coldwater in a tri-meet. Sophomore Bradie Lehman recorded 41 assists going over the 1,000 assist mark for her career. Iyla Weeks finished with 31 kills and Annie Saenz scored five aces for Concord.

Eaton Rapids 3, Jackson 2: The Vikings lost 19-17 in the decisive fifth set of the home match.

St. Catherine 3, Lumen Christi 0: The Titans are now 3-2 on the season following the home loss.

Boys Cross Country

Springport Invitational D-1 Race: Hanover-Horton High School won the event with 22 points led by Landen Boulis with a time of 16:59 and Cooper Flick who finished second in 17:36. Zach Hassenzahl placed fourth (18:10), and Chad Tyson was sixth (18:34). Northwest finished third in the event (86 points) and Michigan Center placed fifth (133). The Mounties were led by Drew Clingerman who finished eighth in 18:55. Brayden Pepper was the first Michigan Center runner in a time of 22:14.

Springport Invitational D-2 Race: Concord High School finished third in the D-2 race with 90 points, Jackson Prep was fifth scoring 137, Springport placed seventh with 157, Vandercook Lake was eighth with 197, and East Jackson 10th at 230 points. Paul Herendeen of Concord was fourth overall (18:18), Dallas Swaenepoel of Vandercook Lake placed 10th (19:36), and Corey Dubnicki of Jackson Prep was right behind him (19:38). Girls Cross Country

Springport Invitational D-1 Race:  Hanover-Horton finished second (49), Northwest was fourth (87), and Michigan Center placed fifth (117) in the girls’ D-2 race at Springport High School. Chloe Khon of Northwest was second overall (21:03) and Maisey Toteff of Hanover-Horton finished third (22:20).

Springport Invitational D-2 Race: Concord High School finished third with 77 points, East Jackson placed fifth (128), and Springport tied for seventh (139). Haley Stimer of Concord finished fifth (22:33) and teammate Cieara Barrett was eighth (23:52). East Jackson was led by Priya Mericle who finished ninth in 24:17. Soccer

Columbia Central 5, Manchester 5: Columbia Central and Manchester high schools are still tied in the Cascades Conference. Each school came into the match at 2-0-1 in conference play. 

Leslie 1, Michigan Center 0: The Cardinals lost at home on a penalty kick. Henry Wright created six saves in net for Michigan Center.

Girls Golf

I-8 at Binder Park: Northwest High School finished second (221) and Western placed fifth (237). Jaedyn Bartell shot a 49 and Melia Piloske shot a 50 to lead Northwest. Western golfer Kaia Bruneel finished tied for second overall with a 46.

Boys tennis

Lansing Christian 5, Columbia Central 3: The Golden Eagles earned wins by Jason Gonerka at No. 2 singles, Tucker Hills/Evan DeOss at No. 2 doubles, and Carson Luppo/Hunter Herzberg at No. 4 doubles.

Spring Arbor 7, Indiana Kokomo 0: The Cougars earned a tennis win on the road Wednesday. 

Women’s Soccer

Spring Arbor 5, Rochester Christian 2: Fara Serra scored two goals for SAU in the win. 

Volleyball

Marian 3, Spring Arbor 1: The Cougars won the second set but lost sets three and four in the home loss. Isabelle Kirkendall and Kendall Bollenbacher combined for 25 kills and Camy Wedge dished 22 assists for SAU (6-4 overall, 0-1 Crossroads League).
