Columbia Central at St. Johns Invitational: Columbia Central finished seventh with 194 points as Jack Gorton finished 17th individually running 18:25 under the lights at St. Johns.
Girls Cross Country
Columbia Central at St. Johns Invitational: Melyssa McJennett of Columbia Central finished 57th with a time of 26 minutes, 16 seconds.
Boys Soccer
Eaton Rapids 4, Grass Lake 0: The Greyhounds earned a non-conference win on the road at Grass Lake.
Chelsea 3, Northwest 1: The Mounties fell at home in a non-conference matchup.
College Athletics
Spring Arbor at Onset Tournament: The Cougars went 2-0 on the day with wins over Columbia International and West Virginia Tech. Keely Hinzman, Kendall Bollenbacher, and Natasha Bickel combined for 42-of-56 kills for SAU in the win over West Virginia Tech. Spring Arbor finished 3-1 in the tournament.

Volleyball
Adrian Tournament: Columbia Central went 2-1 in pool play defeating Blissfield and Adrian but lost to Northwest in straight sets. The Golden Eagles lost to Whitmore Lake in the stepladder. Mara Henry led CCHS with 23 kills and 10 blocks, Alison Richardson dished 29 assists, and Cecelia Slat and Kiley Swift each recorded 32 digs for CCHS (2-4).
East Jackson at Addison Invitational: The Trojans were 0-2-1 in pool play splitting with Morenci in the opening round.
Concord at St. Philip Invitational: The Yellowjackets went 2-1-1 on the day with wins over Climax-Scotts and Hillsdale, a split with Kalamazoo Central, and a hard-fought 27-25 and 26-24 loss to Hillsdale Academy. Iyla Weeks finished with 45 kills, Bradie Lehman dished 66 assists, and Marissa Mandrelle served 10 aces for Concord.
Chelsea Invitational: Hanover-Horton finished second overall in the Chelsea Bulldog Invitational. The Comets were 10-4 on the day beating Milan and Monroe in pool play. The Comets defeated Gabriel Richard in the quarterfinals and Grass Lake in the semifinal. HHHS lost to Milan in the finals with the final game of 18-16. Chelsea Russ finished with 41 kills and 27 digs, Mollie Barber tallied 45 digs, Morgan Kuhl finished with 20 kills and six blocks, and Quinn Knoblauch finished with 56 assists and 42 digs for the Comets. Grass Lake was led by Mia Buttigieg with 77 assists and eight aces, Hanna Alvarez added 80 digs, Ashleigh Simon finished with 35 kills, and Reese Lape tallied 24 kills for Grass Lake.
Springport at Leslie: Springport lost to Eaton Rapids and Leslie at the Leslie Invitational Saturday.
Boys Cross Country
Webberville Invitational: Northwest High School finished fifth in the Division 1 race with 141 points. Silas Shepherd finished 15th overall in 19:22 and teammate Drew Clingerman was 18th in 19:43.
Lumen Christi at Michigan Catholic: The Titans won the event with 58 points – placing three runners in the top 10. Isaiah Dinverno finished third (16:21), Leo Swager placed fifth (16:54), and Gibson Shore was ninth (17:18) for the Titans at Lansing.
Girls Cross Country
Lumen Christi at Michigan Catholic: Lumen Christi finished second scoring 69 points at Lansing. Samantha Schroeder was sixth (20:32), Macy Fazekas finished eighth (21:04), and Thia Tello placed 10th (21:13).
Boys Soccer
Columbia Central Soccer Tournament: The Golden Eagles went 1-1 on the day with an easy 9-1 win over Hillsdale and a 2-1 loss to Clinton.
Portage Northern 2, Western 0: The Panthers fell to 0-3 on the season with a non-conference loss to Portage Northern.
Boys Tennis
Lumen Christi at Midland Tournament: The Titans tied Kalamazoo Hackett 4-4 winning three-of-four doubles competitions. Winning doubles matches were Luke Dumont/Maden Brady at No. 2, Chase Schirmacher/T.J. O’Neil won at No. 3 doubles, and Brogan Kelly/Harrison Botke won 7-6 and 7-5 at No. 4 doubles.
Western at Portland: The Panthers lost to Big Rapids and Forest Hills Eastern, but defeated Portland 5-3. Jack Spooner won the No. 4 singles flight and Lucas Parrott was runner up at No. 1 singles.

Women’s Soccer
Embry-Riddle (Arizona) 1, Spring Arbor 0: Embry-Riddle scoring in the second half to pull out the game at SAU. Spring Arbor goalie Reagan Kohler finished with nine saves in the contest.

Jackson College at New York Tournament: The Jackson College women’s soccer team went 1-1 over the weekend playing in the women Supporting Women in Sports Tournament in New York. The Jets lost to Monroe Community College 3-0 on Saturday but rebounded for a 6-1 win over Genesee Community College Sunday. JC could only muster four shots in the loss to Monroe. Goalie Serenity Wieszciecinski finished with 16 saves for the Jets. Jackson scored four times in the second half in a win at Genesee Community College. Franny Parks scored three goals and Samantha Youmans added two goals for Jackson. Jillian Lester scored one goal for Jackson in the victory. The Jets home opener is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7, against Terra State Community College beginning at 1 p.m.
Men’s Soccer
Spring Arbor 3, Lindsey Wilson 2: The Cougars scored twice in the second half to earn the road win. Jack Reynolds, David Magalhaes, and Josh Madery all scored goals for SAU (2-1).

Performer of the Week
Logan Bentley, Columbia Central High School

The senior tied her own school record with a 2-under-par round at The Grande Golf Course last week during the Cascades Conference jamboree. She eagled the eighth hole and birdied the ninth hole on her way to a 34.
Hopefully she can keep that Scott Cameron putter hot all season!
