Hanover-Horton 28, Columbia Central 19: The Comets earned the Cascades Conference West Division title with the victory. It is the schools first football conference title of any kind. Freshman Austyn Hocter ran for 169 yards – on only eight carries – and scored two touchdowns for the Comets. Luke Nadell scored once and ran for 60 yards and Luke Soper threw for 88 yards and one score and ran for another. Soper led HHHS with 10 tackles and Adam Ley added nine stops of the Comets. Columbia Central finishes the regular conference season with a 3-2 record while Hanover-Horton is 8-0 overall, 5-0 Cascades Conference. The Comets will host the Cascades Conference title game Saturday at noon while CCHS hosts Napoleon in its crossover game Friday night at 7 p.m.

 Napoleon 54, East Jackson 0: Napoleon High School finishes tied for second place in the Cascades Conference East Division with a 3-2 record. The Pirates are 5-3 on the season. Zavior Skog ran for 221 yards and four scores for Napoleon in the win as the Pirates rushed for 420 yards. Brenton Owen ran for 80 yards and one touchdown and returned an interception on defense 50 yards for Napoleon. East Jackson finishes the regular season with an 0-8 record. They will face Vandercook Lake in a rematch Friday at 7 p.m. at the Vandy Bowl. Napoleon gets a rematch at Columbia Central at 7 p.m. with a chance to go 6-3 and possible earn a playoff spot.

 Lumen Christi 37, Gaylord 20: Kadale Williams ran for 224 yards and two touchdowns as the Titans earned a win over Gaylord – LCCHS’s only loss a year ago. Isaac Rehberg finished with 67 rushing yards and three touchdowns and Timmy Crowley threw for 92 yards for the Titans. Lumen Christi travels to Ford Field next Saturday for a game against Kalamazoo United at 1:30 p.m.

Grass Lake 28, Leslie 7: Brayden Lape threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more as the Warriors ruined the perfect season for Leslie in Cascades Conference East Division action. Lape threw for 290 yards, Luke Guthrie ran for 90 yards, and Bryant Cook caught two touchdowns and finished with 140 receiving yards for GLHS. Cook also led the defensive effort with 12 tackles. Leslie was led by sophomore Joel Cranmore with 159 passing yards, Jayden Colby caught eight passes for 107 yards, and Braydin Johnson had six tackles, one interception, and a fumble recovery on the defensive side. Leslie travels to Hanover-Horton next Saturday for the Cascades Conference championship beginning at noon. Grass Lake travels to Addison Friday at 7 p.m. for the Cascades Conference crossover matchup.

Onsted 47, Hillsdale 8: Dominick Coke caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Jace Lennox for the Hornets only score of the game. Lennox threw for 70 yards and ran for 88 for Hillsdale (0-8). The Hornets host Hudson in LCAA action next Friday at 7 p.m.    

Marine City 50, Jackson 26: The Vikings are now 4-4 on the season with the non-conference road loss. Jackson hosts Haslett Friday at 7 p.m. in a non-conference matchup to end the season.

 Manchester 46, Michigan Center 35: Manchester finds itself on the right side of another offensive battle in Cascades Conference action. The Flying Dutchmen tie for second place in the Cascades Conference with a 6-2 overall record, 3-2 in the league. Walter Ahrens was the star for Manchester with 197 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Tommy Johnson, Brady Reed, and Phoenix Hulswitt also scored touchdowns for the Flying Dutchmen. Braylen Brown finished with 132 rushing yards and three touchdowns and Trevor Collins accounted for 260 offensive yards and two scores for Michigan Center. The Cardinals travel to Homer for the Cascades Conference crossover game at 7 p.m. Friday in a battle against former assistant coach Nic Cass. Manchester travels to Jonesville for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Jonesville 70, Homer 8: Jonesville High School finishes second in the Cascades Conference West Division with the lopsided win. John Milks finished with 212 rushing yards and three scored, Carson Playford 90 for 90 yards and two scores, and Skyler Cooper added two touchdowns for Jonesville. Harper Griffith finishes with five tackles, one interception, and three sacks on the defensive side for the Comets. Jonesville has won four games in a row as it hosts Manchester Friday at 7 p.m. in the Cascades Conference crossover game. Homer hosts Michigan Center in its crossover contest.

Northwest 30, Pennfield 10: The Mounties earned a home win on senior night. Northwest is now 2-3 in Interstate-8 Athletic Conference action, 3-5 overall. The Mounties travel to Harper Creek Friday at 7 p.m. finish the regular season.

Bronson 28, Springport 14: The Spartans scored on a 2-yard run by Kolton Woyame and a 43-yard touchdown pass from Gibson Overweg to Tucker Wiginton. Springport led 14-7 at halftime, but Bronson scored three times in the second half earning the win. Woyame finished with 72 rushing yards for Springport. The Spartans (6-2 overall) conclude the season with a home game Friday at 7 p.m. against Potterville. Springport concludes the Big Eight Conference with a 5-2 record, good for third place.

 Lenawee Christian 42, Concord 0: Gavin Riske finished with 193 passing yards for Concord with 41 attempts on the night. Concord is 3-5 overall of the season, 1-2 in the Southern Central 8-Man Athletic Association White Division. The Yellowjackets travel to Bellevue for its final game of the season Friday at 7 p.m.

 Addison 44, Vandercook Lake 7: Addison High School finishes 2-3 in the Cascades Conference West Division with the road win. Vandercook Lake is 1-7 overall, 0-5 in conference play.

Stockbridge 33, Maple Valley 21: The Panthers earned its second win of the season scoring four times in the first half. Brandon Hamlett finished with 178 rushing yards and one touchdown and Noah Sandecki added 96 rushing yards and one score for Stockbridge. Zac Rogozinski completed only two passes – both for touchdowns in the contest. Rogozinski finished with 12 tackles and Braiden Royal added 11 tackles for Stockbridge (2-5 Big Eight Conference). The Panthers travel to Dansville Friday for a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. to finish the regular season.

Haslett 21, Western 18: Reed Myers threw for 152 yards and ran for 45 yards for Western in the home loss. Jayden Willis ran for 80 yards and a score and Noah Berdiner returned a kickoff for a score and converted on a field goal attempts for Western. The Panthers are now 5-3 overall and host Pennfield Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Michigan Center at Dansville: The Cardinals split with the host school 18-25 and 26-24.

Girls State Golf

Division 3 at Bedford Valley Golf Course: Western High School golfer Kaia Bruneel finished tied for 40th with a pair of 93s Friday and Saturday at Bedford Valley Golf Course.

Division 4 at Forest Akers Golf Course: Columbia Central High School finished tied for second at the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 finals at Forest Akers West Golf Course. The Golden Eagles finished with a two-day total of 748. NorthPointe Christian earned the trophy in a scorecard playoff. Concord finished 15th (881), East Jackson was 16th (921), and Lumen Christi placed 17th (948). Logan Bentley finished second individually – for the third consecutive season – with a total of 149. Teammates Kelsey Fausz shot 186 and Marrisa Berro finished at 191. Napoleon golfer Anna McCubbins earned her second consecutive top 10 medal with a two-day total of 166 – good for seventh place overall. Hannah Stimer finished 30th for Concord with a 199, Mariah Kerley led EJHS with 212, and Peyton Best and Kathleen McClure led the Titans with 233.

Volleyball

Grace 3, Spring Arbor 1: Kendall Bollenbacher finished with 14 kills and Isabelle Kirkendall tallied 13 kills for SAU (11-10, 5-7 CL).

Men’s Soccer

Spring Arbor 6, Taylor 0: Rood Schnaider and Sahel Yessen both scored a pair of goals for SAU. Jack Cristini earned the shutout with three saves for SAU (9-6-1 overall, 3-3-1 CL).

Women’s Soccer

Delta College 4, Jackson College 1: The Jets fell at home Saturday giving up three goals in the first half. Franny Parks scored the only goal for Jackson College. JC travels to Madonna University Wednesday but a start time has not been posted.

Spring Arbor 1, Taylor 0: Lauren Marshall scored the only goal in the game for SAU. Reagan Kohler earned the shutout with six saves in the road contest. SAU is now 11-3 overall, 6-1 CL).
