(May 4, 2022 10:32 AM) Soccer player Kylin Heidrich returned to Grass Lake High School to play soccer in her junior season.

The Warriors are glad she did.

Heidrich scored five goals on Monday in an 8-0 win over Jackson Christian on the road.

The senior has scored 17 goals in 10 games so far for the Warriors – scoring at least one goal in the team’s last seven games.

She attended Grass Lake at an early age, moved to Stockbridge from third to 10th grade, then moved back.

“I wanted to move back and play soccer with a lot of my friends,” Heidrich said.

The Warriors are 4-5-1 through Monday in girls’ soccer.

“We have to be able to keep our heads in games to start,” Heidrich said. “Once we started to connect our passes against Jackson Christian, we found a lot of success.”

Grass Lake scored four goals in the first 40 minutes against JCHS, then tallied four more goals in just 15 minutes to close out the contest.

Heidrich has concentrated on the sport playing club soccer for nearly a decade. She knows that next fall she will need to concentrate on college.

“I am attending the University of Findlay in Ohio to study in a pre-veterinary program,” Heidrich said.

She is expected to finish in the top 10 of her graduating class with a 4.1 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
