 Boys Basketball

Jackson 43, St. Francis 38: Jackson led 25-10 at halftime and held on for the victory.

Northwest 64, Pinckney 48: The Mounties scored more than 20 points more than its season average in a win over Pinckney.

Lumen Christi 69, Stockbridge 59: The Titans earned a 10-point non-conference win Friday night.

Girls Basketball

Concord 40, Quincy 30: Bradie Lehman scored 12 points and Grace Thorrez added nine points for Concord (4-1 overall, 2-0 Big 8).

Jackson Christian 60, North Adams-Jerome 32: Rennie Huff finished with 24 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and five assists to lead the Royals. Johannah Loew finished with 14 points and Ella Boll tallied 12 points and eight rebounds for JCHS.

Gabriel Richard 59, Lumen Christi 42: Kenna Hunt finished with 15 points and Kathleen Doan tallied 10 points for Lumen Christi (3-2 overall).

Adrian 37, Northwest 25: The Mounties fell on the road in non-conference action Friday night.

Wrestling

Grass Lake Team Invitational: Dundee won the tournament with a 5-0 record. Grass Lake went 1-4 as Bryce Beadenkopf was 5-0 on the day at 165 pounds and Andrew Beadenkopf went 4-1 at 175.

Hockey

Holland West 4, Lumen Christi 1: The Titans lost in the opening round of the Big Rapids High School Showcase.

College Athletic Events

Men’s Basketball

Madonna 87, Spring Arbor 65: Travis Grayson led four players in double digits for SAU with 13 points.

December 21, 2024 Events

Boys Basketball

Hanover-Horton 47, Concord 30: Brodey Bially scored 14 points to lead the Comets. Brady Garrett scored nine points for Concord.

Kingsford 48, Jackson 29: The Vikings lost in the championship game of the Elk Rapids Invitational:

Lumen Christi 67, Royal Oak Shrine 28: Lumen Christi easily defeated Royal Oak Shrine at home Saturday afternoon.

Girls Basketball

Belleville 72, Western 56: Rayah Hitt scored 23 points, Bayli Stewart finished with 17 points, and Aubree Allen added 12 points for the Panthers.

Wrestling

Springport at Lawton Duals: Springport went 3-2 on the day winning its bracket at Lawton High School. Leslie went 5-0 on the day as Grason Weber earned his 100th win for the Blackhawks. Manchester won the event, Springport was third, and Leslie fifth.

Competitive Cheer

Onsted Invitational: Michigan Center finished second to the host school in the Division 3 competition, 684-680.

Hockey

Jackson United 5, Ann Arbor Huron 1: Luke Bergkoetter scored a pair of goals in JU’s win over A.A. Huron.  Jonah Hughes finished with 25 saves in net for Jackson.

College Athletic Events

 Men’s Basketball

Southwestern Michigan 78, Jackson College 63: Bobby Roberts scored 24 points, Kamerin Carter scored 13 points, and Cooper Johnston added 11 points for Jackson College (2-11). Jackson College will host Glen Oaks CC Wednesday, Jan. 8, for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.

Women’s Basketball

Jackson College 76, Southwestern College 53: Zoie Bamm scored 25 points and Michelle McGee and Kiyla Brooks added 15 points apiece as JC won at home Saturday. Jackson College hosts Lansing Community College Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
