Football Regional Final

Lumen Christi 42, Constantine 6: The Titans advanced to the Division 6 semifinals with a home win in the regional final Saturday afternoon. Kadale Williams ran for 85 yards and three touchdowns and Kenyon Bushinski added 72 rushing yards and two scores for Lumen Christi. Josh DuMont scored the other touchdown for LCCHS with a 21-yard run. Timmy Crowley was 5-for-6 passing for 114 yards for Lumen Christi. Isaac Rehberg and Cassius Griffin added eight tackles apiece for the Titans. Lumen Christi will face Marine City next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Novi in the Division 6 football semifinals.

Hockey

Jackson United 10, Riverview 1: Luke Bergkoetter scored three goals and Cameron Ronquillo and Nick Baumgardner each scored two goals for JU (1-1). Goalie Chappell earned the win in goal for Jackson United. The team retired the number of Jacob Burbank – a Western High School student who died in October after a 16-month battle with cancer – during an emotional ceremony after the first period of the matchup.

College Athletic Events

Men’s Basketball

Lansing Community College 92, Jackson College 84: The Jets scored only 27 points in the first half but recovered scoring 57 points in the second half. Cedric Huntley scored 20 points and Savonn Campbell added 18 points for Jackson College. Cooper Johnston finished with 15 points for JC. The Jets (1-3) will travel to Delta College Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. tip.

Women’s Basketball

St. Mary 73, Spring Arbor 71: The Cougars lost is first game of the season with a road loss. Alayna Kulasza scored 18 points and Alana Nelson added 16 points and eight rebounds for SAU.

D-7 Regional Final

Monroe St. Mary 55, Leslie 18: The Blackhawks lost at Monroe Friday in the Division 7 regional final. Leslie finishes the season with a 10-2 record – its first 10-win season since 2008. Jayden Colby returned a kickoff 92 yards for a score and quarterback Joel Cranmore ran for two scores for the Blackhawks.

Hockey

Lumen Christi 5, Gibraltar 1: Isaiah Dinverno scored a pair of goals and Zach Jaakkola tallied 32 saves in net for the Titans.

College Athletic Events

Men’s Basketball

Spring Arbor 71, Concordia 56: Three players scored in double digits as Gabe Newhof scored 18 points, Kevyn Robertson added 13 points, and Travis Grayson tallied 11 points for SAU in the victory.
