Grass Lake 70, East Jackson 0: The Warriors held East Jackson to less than 50 yards of offense in the home win Friday. Brayden Lape was 3-for-3 passing for 97 yards and three touchdowns. Lape, Blake Harms, Dawson Duible, and Justic Payne scored rushing touchdowns for GLHS. Jacob Collins caught two touchdown passes and Carmyne Beltran added one. Bryant Cook led Grass Lake with seven tackles. Amaree Padgett led East Jackson with 24 passing yards and seven tackles. Lucas Richardson, Landin Hendricks, and Bryce Sajdak finished with six tackles apiece for EJHS (0-4). Things do not get any easier for the Trojans as they host Michigan Center Friday at 7 p.m. Grass Lake (3-1) travels to Napoleon Friday at 7 p.m.
Hastings 37, Western 17: The Panthers fell on the road in Interstate-8 Conference play. Reed Myers finished with 171 passing yards, Jayden Willis carried for 22 yards and one score, and D.J. VanRiper finished with four receptions. Defensively, Willis returned a blocked punt for a touchdown, Coby Tripp tallied eight tackles, and Luke Bergkoetter added seven stops. Noah Berdiner kicked a field goal for WHS (3-1). The Panthers travel to Coldwater Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Hanover-Horton 21, Jonesville 18: Jonesville did everything nearly right but win. Jonesville held Hanover-Horton to just over 104 rushing yards and 55 receiving. Hanover-Horton was led by Austyn Hocter with 56 rushing yards and one touchdown and A.J. Fielder added 27 yard and one score. Luke Soper intercepted a pass and returned it for a score for Hanover-Horton in the win. Adam Ley tallied eight tackles and Soper finished with seven tackles for HH. John Milks was the leader for Jonesville with eight tackles defensively and 147 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Jonesville. Ben Colbart and Ian Doyle finished with four tackles apiece and Skyler Cooper recorded an interception for Jonesville (1-3). Jonesville travels to Addison for a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday. Hanover-Horton (4-0) celebrates fall homecoming with a contest against Homer Friday beginning at 7 p.m.

Jackson 18, Pinckney 7: The Vikings are 4-0 for the first times since 2018 when Jackson started the season 9-0. Jackson travels to Ypsilanti Community Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Lumen Christi 42, Detroit Jesuit 13: Kadale Williams returned for the Titans rushing for 222 yards and scoring four touchdowns in the win at Detroit Jesuit. Amarion Clay added 41 rushing yards and one score for the Titans. Timmy Crowley was 10-for-16 passing for 141 yards with Kash Kalahar catching four of those passes for 112 yards and one score. Mason Herney had nine tackles and Isaac Rehberg created five tackles and an interception for Lumen Christi (3-1). The Titans travel to Dearborn Divine Child Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Northwest 24, Coldwater 20: The Mounties earned its first victory of the season with a comeback win at home Friday. Northwest (1-3) travels to Marshall Friday for an Interstate-8 Conference game beginning at 7 p.m.

Manchester 36, Napoleon 14: The Flying Dutchmen led 22-14 at halftime and shut out the Pirates in the second half for the Cascades Conference win. Manchester ran for 264 yards in the contest led by Walter Ahrens with 87 yards and one touchdown, Jayden Johnson with 68 yards and two scores, and Brady Reed with 67 yards and a score. Drake Neff scored on a 35-yard touchdown pass from Jackson Walz for Manchester. Ashton Warner and Brayden Maher scored on runs for the Pirates. Zavior Skog finished with 87 rushing yards for Napoleon. The Pirates ran the football for 252 yards in the contest. Napoleon (2-2) hosts Grass Lake Friday at 7 p.m. for its fall homecoming contest. Manchester (4-0) travels to Leslie Friday at 7 p.m. in a Cascades Conference contest.
Columbia Central 38, Addison 8: The Golden Eagles earned its first win of the season Friday. Bauston Pilaczynski finished with 158 rushing yards and two touchdowns for CCHS. Nic Richardson threw for 179 yard and two touchdowns to Trent Troyer. Defensively, Blake Hoskins, Shane Taylor, and Christian Millican each recorded eight stops for CCHS. Mikey Trumble finished with 23 carries and 101 yards for Addison. Josh Ray and Caleb Potts each recorded six tackles and Keegan Deel and Austin Wilson each had interceptions for Addison (2-2). The Panthers host Jonesville for a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday while CCHS travels to Vandercook Lake.

Britton-Deerfield 54, Concord 8: Gavin Riske finished with 145 passing yards and one touchdown pass to Jordan Medellin. Trenton Frazer led Concord with 10 tackles and Adam Miller added nine stops. Britton-Deerfield finished with nearly 400 rushing yards. “We struggled to stop the run … Britton Deerfield had a great game plan, making it very difficult for us to be comfortable,” Coach Max Clark said. Concord (2-2) travels to Morenci Friday at 7 p.m.
Leslie 33, Michigan Center 31: The Blackhawks earned a Cascades Conference win on the road Friday to spoil homecoming for Michigan Center. Joel Cranmore threw for 129 yards and two scores and rushed for 63 yards. Jayden Colby caught two touchdown passes and ran for 50 yards. Braydin Johnson finished with six catches for 79 yards and two scores for Leslie. The Leslie defense finished with four takeaways in the contest. Bodee Adkins caught two touchdown passes of 54 and 11 yards and Brennan Forward caught one late score in the game for the Cardinals. Tre Collins threw for more than 100 yards and ran for one score and Braylon Browns also scored on a touchdown run for Michigan Center (1-3). Leslie (4-0) hosts Manchester in a key Cascades Conference matchup Friday at 7 p.m. Michigan Center makes the short trip to East Jackson for a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday.

Springport 41, Stockbridge 36: Both offenses were lights out on Stockbridge’s homecoming night. Lighting failures caused delays in the Big Eight Conference contest. Daniel Dysert ran for nearly 200 yards and Jake Kregel added 129 rushing yards and two receiving touchdown for Springport. Gibson Overweg finished 10-for-13 passing for 125 yards and three scores. Zac Rogozinski finished with 178 passing yards and three touchdowns for the Panthers. Noah Sandecki ran for 79 yards and two scores for Stockbridge. Brock Rochow caught a touchdown pass from Rogozinski and tallied 127 receiving yards for Stockbridge (0-4). Springport (4-0) travels to Quincy while Stockbridge travels to Reading Friday at 7 p.m. in Big Eight Conference play.
Homer 36, Vandercook Lake 18: Homer High School earns its first win of the season with a home win against the Jayhawks. Homer travels to Hanover-Horton Friday at 7 p.m. while the Jayhawks host Columbia Central in Cascades Conference action.
Ida 48, Hillsdale 6: Evan Towne threw for 108 yards and a touchdown to Thayden Welch in the loss for Hillsdale. Jace Lennox rushed for 50 yards for the Hornets (0-4). Hillsdale travels to Madison for a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday.

Volleyball
SAU Invitational: Western High School won the tournament defeating Hanover-Horton in the finals. The Panthers went 6-0 in pool play defeating Northwest, Jackson, and Springport. Western defeated Concord in the semifinals and the Comets in the finals, 25-21 and 25-21. Bayli Stewart scored 46 kills, J.J. Lewis created 35 digs and scored 31 points in earning all-tournament honors, and Becca Brushaber dished 94 assists for Western. Hanover-Horton was 6-0 in pool play and defeated Napoleon in the semifinals. Gracie Tallman led NHS with 33 kills and 30 digs and Emma Darnell created 40 digs and 29 assists. Concord went 6-0 in pool play, defeated Lumen Christi 25-18 25-22 in the quarterfinals, but lost to Western in the semifinal. Iyla Weeks finished with 73 kills, Bradie Lehman record 109 assists, and Annie Saenz was 64-for-66 serving for Concord. Columbia Central went 3-3 in pool play before losing to Napoleon. Mara Henry finished with 22 kills, Alison Richarson dished 36 assists and created 26 digs, and Kiley Swift added 41 digs for CCHS.

Onsted Invitational: Grass Lake High School finishes second overall in the tournament. The Warriors defeated Onsted twice and Addison at the tournament. They lost to Adrian 17-15 in the final set. Hanna Alvarez finished with 67 digs for the day going over the 1,000 mark in that category for Grass Lake. Mia Buttigieg finished with 32 points serving and 92 assists. Reese Lape finished with 29 kills and nine blocks and Ashleigh Simon also tallied 29 kills for the Warriors.
Boys Cross Country
Jackson Invitational
Division 1: Jackson High School finished 31st with 900 points. Hollis Mick finished 115th with a time of 17 minutes, 14 seconds.
Division 2: Western finished third, Grass Lake was sixth, Napoleon was right behind the Warriors, and Northwest finished eighth in the D-2 race at Ella Sharp Park. Edison Lopeman of Western finished second (15:52) and teammate Ryan Good placed fourth (16:44). Connor Sherwood of Grass Lake finished 16th (18:12), Drew Clingerman of Northwest finished 20th (18:21), and Andrew Norman of Napoleon was 22nd (18:23).
Divisions 3/4: Lumen Christi won the event with 46 points, Hanover-Horton was third with 112, and Columbia Central placed seventh with 194. Isaiah Dinverno of Lumen Christi finished second (15:53), teammate Leo Swager placed third (16:12), Landen Boulis of Hanover-Horton was fourth (16:13), and Gibson Shore of Lumen Christi ended up ninth (16:54).
Pittsford Invitational: Diego BoCole of Jackson Prep finished 14th in the junior/senior race in 19:42.
Girls Cross Country

Division 1: Grace Brown of Jackson High School finished 80th with a time of 20:31.
Division 2: Western High School finished fourth, Grass Lake took sixth place, and Napoleon was eighth. Bridget Fullerton of Western was 13th individually (21:12), teammate Raquel Curey finished 15th (21:18), and Adalyn Jarchow placed 16th (21:25).
Division 3/4: Lumen Christi swept the division winning the girls’ division with 42 points and Hanover-Horton finished fifth scoring 133. Samantha Schroeder of Lumen Christi was third overall in 19:12, Maisey Toteff of Hanover-Horton finished sixth in 20:23, and Layla Lopez and Macy Fazekas finished ninth and 10th respectively with times of 20:48 and 20:52.

Lumen Christi at Allegan Tournament: The Titans scored 12 wins in the eight-team tournament. Chase Schirmacher/T.J. O’Neil scored three wins at No. 3 doubles and Brogan Kelly/Harrison Botke also won three matches at No. 4 doubles for the Titans.

Spring Arbor 3, St. Francis 0: Kendall Bollenbacher tallied nine kills and Camy Wedge dished 15 assists for Spring Arbor (9-6).
Men’s Soccer
Judson 2, Spring Arbor 0: The Jets fell on the road Saturday for only its second loss of the season (6-2).
Lake Michigan 5, Jackson College 3: The Jets trailed 2-1 at halftime but scored a pair of goals in first 10 minutes of the second half taking a 3-2 lead. Jesus Tavera scored both goals for Jackson in the second half. Wyatt Robinson scored the first goal of the game for Jackson with Tavera earning the assists. The Jets were outshot 10-2 in the second half. Jackson hosts Grand Rapids Community College Wednesday with a 4 p.m. start.
Women’s Soccer
Jackson College, 2, Lake Michigan 1: The Jets erased a 1-0 deficit in the first half with a pair of goals in the second. Franny Parks scored midway through the second half to tie the game and she scored on a penalty kick with 3:35 remaining in the contest for the winning goal. Jackson outshot Lake Michigan 14-4 in the contest. Katelyn Gasper earned the win in net for Jackson College. The Jets will host Grand Rapids Community College Wednesday for a 2 p.m. start.
