Three local teams remain undefeated in football this season following results from Friday.
Leslie won a battle of undefeated teams against Manchester in Cascades Conference action.
They seem to be on a collision course with undefeated Hanover-Horton for the Cascades Conference championship.
A surprising Springport is also undefeated at 5-0 overall and in the Big Eight Conference .
Here are results from Friday’s football contests.
Jonesville 46, Addison 0: John Milks finished with 19 carries for 202 yards and two scores for Jonesville. Skyler Cooper finished with 118 yards rushing on only seven carries and scored twice and Carson Playford also scored for Jonesville. Playford led the defense with 10 tackles and Harper Griffiths recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown for the Comets. Caleb Potts finished with 13 tackles for Addison. The Panthers are now 2-3 on the season and travel to Homer Friday. Jonesville (2-3) stops a three-game losing streak and hosts Columbia Central next Friday for 7 p.m. kickoff.

Columbia Central 55, Vandercook Lake 18: Columbia Central High School freshman Julian Boardman finished with 154 rushing yards and four touchdowns while carrying the football only seven times. Bauston Pilaczynski ran for 102 yard and two scores and Nic Richardson threw for 100 yards with touchdowns to Trent Troyer and Julian Sims for CCHS. Shane Taylor led the defensive effort for CCHS with seven stops – including three for losses. VCL scored on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Chris Jimenez to Sam Griffin and touchdown runs by Leland Barton and Deshawn Roper. The Jayhawks are now 1-4 on the season and travels to Hanover-Horton next Friday for the JTV live game beginning at 6:45 p.m. Columbia Central travels to Jonesville Friday at 7 p.m.

Napoleon 30, Grass Lake 26: Napoleon High School took over with nine minutes remaining in the contest and trailing Grass Lake before chewing up more than seven minutes on the clock for the winning score. They stopped the high-powered Grass Lake offense in the last two minutes of the contest. Jayden Servis ran for 102 yards and scored three touchdowns for Napoleon. The Pirates finished with more than 350 rushing yards as Ashton Warner ran for 81 yards and Zavior Skog rushed for 66 yards and one score. Warner finished with seven tackles for Napoleon (3-2). Grass Lake was led by Brayden Lape with 184 passing yards and three touchdowns with two going to Bryant Cook and one to Jacob Collins. Luke Guthrie also scored on a run for the Warriors. Cook and Collins teamed up for 33 tackles for Grass Lake (3-2) on the defensive side of the ball. Napoleon travels to Leslie while Grass Lake travels to Michigan Center next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Concord 32, Morenci 16: The Yellowjackets are 3-2 after a road win Friday at Morenci. “We played really well as our kids executed the halftime adjustments very well,” Concord Coach Max Clark said. “This was a great team win.” Gavin Riske threw for 221 yards and rushed for 81 more in the win. Jordan Medellin was his main target with 153 receiving yards and a pair of touchdown catches. Riske also ran for a pair of scores for Concord (3-2). Mason Davis led the defensive charge for Concord with 16 tackles including three for losses. Landen Lynn also recorded eight stops for the Yellowjackets. Concord hosts Pittsford next Friday for its fall homecoming game beginning at 7 p.m.

Michigan Center 48, East Jackson 0: Davion King scored on a 40-yard touchdown run for the Cardinals. Amaree Padgett finished with 80 passing yards and 61 rushing yards for the Trojans. Alex Lewis finished with 10 tackles for EJHS. East Jackson (0-5) travels to Manchester while Michigan Center (2-3) hosts Grass Lake next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Hanover-Horton 63, Homer 0: Hanover-Horton ran for nearly 300 yards in the victory. Austyn Hocter ran for 128 yards and two scores, Lukas Nadell finished with 109 rushing yards and one touchdown, and A.J. Fielder and Luke Soper each scored a pair of touchdowns for the Comets. J.J. Russ also scored on an 8-yard pass from Soper. Adam Ley led Hanover-Horton with nine tackles including four for losses. No stats were available for Homer. Hanover-Horton (5-0) hosts Vandercook Lake next Friday at 7 p.m. in the JTV live game. Homer (1-4) hosts Addison for senior night next Friday.
Ypsilanti Community 27, Jackson 20: Jackson High School fell to 4-1 with a road loss at Ypsilanti Community. No stats were available for the contest. Jackson will host Adrian next Friday for its annual homecoming game with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Lumen Christi 35, Divine Child 0 : Kadale Williams ran for 166 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns for Lumen Christi. Amarion Clay also ran for 66 yards and one score and J.J. Brown caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Timmy Crowley for the Titans. Paul Sattler scored a defensive touchdown for LCCHS on a 15-yard pick six and Isaac Rehberg finished with 10 tackles for Lumen Christi. The Titans host de Sales of Toledo next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Marshall 28, Northwest 27: The Mounties led 13-12 at halftime but Marshall rallied for the win. The Redhawks took the lead in the third quarter on a 30-yard touchdown run from Akin Olapade. Austin Miller threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Aiden Miller for Marshall with more than four minutes remaining in the contest. Northwest scored late but came up one point short. No stats were available for the Mounties in the game. Northwest travels to Berkley High School (thumb area) for a noon kickoff next Saturday.
Springport 48, Quincy 7: Springport High School remains undefeated at 5-0 with the win on the road Friday. Daniel Dysert ran for 138 yards and one score for Springport in the victory. Kolton Woyame scored twice on the ground and Gibson Overweg added one touchdown run for the Spartans. Tucker Wiginton got the Spartans off to a great start with a 78-yard kickoff return for a score. Gibson Overweg threw a pair of touchdown passes to Jake Kregel in the contest. Springport travels to Reading next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Big Eight Conference action.
Western 49, Coldwater 7: The Panthers got it done through the air as Reed Myers finished 9-for-12 passing for 210 yards and four touchdowns. D.J. VanRiper finished with a 65-yard punt return score and a touchdown reception, Maverick Hammond caught five passes for 110 yards and two scores, and Brody Videto added one catch for a 37-yard touchdown. Luke Bergkoetter finished with seven tackles and Coby Tripp recovered a fumble for Western (4-1). Western High School hosts Harper Creek next Friday for its homecoming game beginning at 7 p.m.
Leslie 45, Manchester 28: Joel Cranmore threw for 265 yards and three touchdown and ran for another as Leslie took claim of the top spot in the Cascades Conference Eastern Division with the victory. Jayden Colby also had a big night for the Blackhawks with 116 receiving yards, two touchdowns, and a 99-yard kickoff return for a score. Colby also had five tackles and an interception on defense, Parker Franklin led Leslie with seven tackles, and Tanner Craft added six stops for Leslie (5-0). Manchester falls from the ranks of the undefeated with the loss. Leslie hosts Napoleon while Manchester (4-1) hosts East Jackson next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Cascades Conference action.
Reading 20, Stockbridge 13: The Panthers fell to 0-5 with the Big Eight Conference loss. Brock Rochow scored on a 46-yard pass from Zac Rogozinski in the first quarter. Rogozinski scored the Panthers’ final score on a 9-yard run in the third quarter. Brandon Hamlett led Stockbridge with 92 yards rushing. Aidan Bradley recorded six tackles for the Panthers in the contest. Stockbridge travels to Quincy next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Madison 30, Hillsdale 8: Dominick Coke caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Jace Lennox for the Hornets’ only score in the contest. Lennox finished with 91 rushing yards for Hillsdale in the contest. Cameron Arnold finished with seven tackles and John Petersen added six stops on the defensive side of the ball for Hillsdale (0-5). The Hornets will host Dundee Friday beginning at 7 p.m.

Volleyball
Hanover-Horton at Schoolcraft Invitational: Hanover-Horton lost to Mendon in three sets and Plymouth Christian in two sets at the Schoolcraft Invitational Saturday. Grass Lake went 2-0-1 in pool play and lost to Plymouth Christian 2-0. Mia Buttigieg finished with 51 assists and Ashleigh Simon finished with 17 kills.
Lumen Christi at Pennfield: The Titans defeated Jonesville 2-1 and Coloma 2-0 before losing to Pennfield 2-0 at the Pennfield Quad Saturday.
Boys Cross Country
Stockbridge Invitational: Grass Lake was 11th, Napoleon was 16th, Concord finished right behind the Pirates, and Northwest was 21st in the 24-team event. For more information on the Stockbridge Invitational, go to www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/meet/237042/info.
Clinton Invitational: Columbia Central High School won the event with 30 points as the Golden Eagles took third through sixth places. Wyatt Vowell was third (18:10), Jack Gorton was fourth (18:23), Owen Lambarth placed fifth (18:24), and Nate Ostrosky finished sixth (18:45).
Hanover-Horton, Jackson at Shepherd: Hanover-Horton won the Jays Division with 62 points. Landen Boulis won the event in 16:04 and teammate Cooper Flick was fifth in 16:29. Lumen Christi, Western, Homer at DeWitt Invitational
Divisions 1 and 2: Edison Lopeman of Western won the race with a time of 15 minutes, 33 second in the 5K event. Western finished fourth with 109 points and Ryan Good finished seventh in 16:28 for the Panthers.
Divisions 3 and 4: Lumen Christi won the event with 33 points and Homer was sixth scoring 146. Isaiah Dinverno won the race in 16:02 and teammate Leo Swager was second in 16:06. Girls Cross Country

Clinton Invitational: Melyssa McJennett of Columbia Central finished fifth overall in 25:25.
Jackson, Hanover-Horton at Shepherd Invitational: Hanover-Horton placed fourth in the Jays Division at Shepherd. Maisey Toteff finished in the top five running 20:09. DeWitt Invitational: Western High School finished ninth in the Divisions 1 and 2 event. Natalie Kuhl of Western finished 20th overall in 21:19. Lumen Christi placed second in the Divisions 3 and 4 race with 43 points and Homer was eighth. Boys Tennis
Lumen Christi at CHSL Championships: Luke Tropea of Lumen Christi Catholic High School won the No. 1 singles title for the Titans at the Catholic High School League championship. The Titans also won titles at No. 3 doubles with T.J. O’Neil/Chase Schirmacher and No. 4 doubles with the team of Harrison Botke/Brogan Kelly.

Mt. Vernon 3, Spring Arbor 2: The Cougars won game one and four, but fell 15-11 in the fifth and final game. Kendall Bollenbacher finished with 21kills, Maiya Clark dished 27 assists, and Kirstyn Throop tallied 25 digs.

Spring Arbor 1, Mt. Vernon 1: Jack Voight scored the only goal for SAU in the home contest.
St. Clair Community CC 10, Jackson 2: Rubenn Lanphear scored both goals for Jackson College (1-6-1). The Jets will host Schoolcraft College Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m.
Women’s Soccer
Jackson College 4, St. Clair County CC 2: Franny Parks and Samantha Youmans both scored a pair of goals for Jackson College in the victory. The Jets are now 6-1-1 overall for the season and host Schoolcraft College Wednesday at noon.
